Seen some dire weather forecasts for boxing day in the North. Wondering if the game is in jeopardy.

Just read that there has been an illness spreading through the club. Hope any after effects don't have an influence. Especially as the squad is approaching full fitness. A win would be very welcome but avoiding defeat away from home is always welcome.

Brilliant free kick and man of the match performance from Callum Cooke.

Pools need a new keeper, another goalscoring forward and a left-sided centre back next month. Neither Tumulty nor Ferguson are defenders. Fergie keeps giving away criminally stupid free kicks with shoves in the back.

Some people have been saying for a while that cooke is one of the best players here…

Not sure what your point is? He's got plenty of ability and played well today, but has been completely anonymous in other matches Pools have lost. Hopefully he'll impose himself on a lot more games this season.

Great win for us today, Cooke is finally turning into the player we were hoping for when we signed him.

Four of our next six league games, taking us up to the end of January, are against bottom seven sides. Win three or four of these six games and it could put a different complexion on things.

The Stockport debacle could well prove to be a turning point in our season.

A flicker of hope. Curle is managing to get a bit of a sound out of a team that is still in desperate need of quality to survive. Priorities- We need a forward for alongside Umerah and two defenders for the left side.

First half thought we bossed it without creating much. Second fell apart for a period until Cooke’s free-kick. A point probably fair overall on the balance of play, but a game we’d 100% have lost a month or so ago. I think there’s 5 teams in this relegation dog fight - of which all will aim to perform major surgery on their team in Jan.

Had a good feeling about Cookes goal when i seen the usual modern day defending of no full backs on the posts.
Excellent result.

thing about cooke is when you watch the game live he does seem anonymous but on ifollow you seem to see more of him. thought pools deserved the 3 points as anyone knew they,d up their game adter we scored. forgot now but did we improve after that hammering torquay gave us at the vic a few seasons back as well.

Yes, it was another wake up call. The big difference is Pools were getting complacent before the Torquay hammering and realised after it that they'd have to be a lot better to really be capable of winning promotion.

The current Pools side isn't good enough defensively to compete with the best sides in the division and we'll probably get thumped a few more times this season. But we're good enough to beat the teams around us and mid-table sides having an off-day, and that's all that matters - till we make those stellar January signings that KPG keeps going on about

well thats how burnley and charlton survived in the top flight for years on end by beating the bottom half of the table and not by shock results of beating the top one week and being caught up by a team below them the next. The harrogate game is far more inportant of our next two home games.

Shocked at the time, but me and the wife unscathed, even the airbags didn’t go off as when I made contact with a road sign, the inertia had slowed down the car.

Second question - how did you manage to write your car off?
Front offside tyre blew out, luckily I’d came off a busy A1 to drive down through the villages.

Aw thanks, It was really hard this morning……had to deal with the insurance and fill the report in for the police on line, which takes ages. But…it’s done now, phew.To be fair, the people at Admiral were canny and even the police were dead helpful…another car now, might buy a tank.
