As someone asked on Question Time last night..when will we ever stop being the feckless lapdogs of the US?

If the boot was on the other foot would the Yanks have it as headline news over there…?
Course not!

Then repeatedly crossing over to show live pictures of a plane sat at an airport doing the square root of feck all is an insult to one's intelligence.

I’ve never understood this obsession with the States….. people think they’re just like us, they ain’t, we get to know all about them but the average yank couldn’t give a flying feck about us.

The average yank doesn’t even have a passport or travelled out with the state they live, I worked there for my mate, one yank asked me was Australia near England !

It's also probably the most dangerous place to live in the world, full of gun-totting fanatics who detest anyone with alternative views to their own.

France is about 25 miles away and we hear virtually nothing about that or other european countries. The Republic of Ireland is even blurred out on the weather reports.

I've been to America once and that was over forty years ago. While I was there one of them asked me if we Brits felt inferior to the Yanks. I laughed at him and he asked what I was laughing at as it was a serious question.
All I said was the Sun never sets on the ENGLISH language, whereas the Sun never rises on the American language, simply because there isn't one.

To be fair, the ‘World Series’ was named after a newspaper, the ‘New York World’, but I do find all their sports tedious.

just imagine having time outs in football to extend the game even further when you are freezing your nuts off like the fans would have done at crawley last night.

Krakatoa is too nice for them, and not British territory. I personally nominate Hirta on the St Kilda archipelago, I hear it has lovely weather this time of year!
