Well a defeat anyway, but always beware of a side who has had a thrashing the game before.

The weather forecast doesn't look too good over the next few days so a postponement is a distinct possibility says he with everything crossed.

To The Hartlepool 2-0. Fellow Cornishman Matthew Etherington took over Crawley days ago. No good luck sent to him tomorrow from me. UTP. Keith C allows mince pies at the Christmas do.

Annoyingly, I'm just down the road from Crawley tonight but cannot go to the match - am at a Christmas do.. (remember them?). If the match were on Saturday, I would have been able to attend. On the basis of this being kismet... I'll go for a Pools win. 1-0

I'll go frozen pitch.

Can't see it been on, or the worst case scenario ..We're winning at half time, then match abandoned.

Per Crawley FC
"There are currently no concerns that this evening's game will be postponed!
The covers will remain on the pitch until the afternoon!"

And we have gone 45 minutes without conceding a goal. Not counting any chickens. Not even one.

95 minutes without conceding and we scored two. Opposition only had one shot on target all game so even Killip couldn't feck up. First away win for 300 years. Moved out of bottom two. Good night all round.

Having Sterry back made a massive difference. Just hope he stays fit for a long run of games now.

Pools never looked like losing but getting 3 points rather than 1 is brilliant. Won their scraps all over the pitch - Mo Sylla looks too clumsy to be a footballer at times but he sticks those long legs out and comes away with the ball more often than not.

Yep you are right but these are the type of games Pools need to win to get enough points to stay up. Pure survival is the name of the game and tonight was a start.

It would be good to sign Menayse but the Saddlers would want money for him and we dont know if he would want to sign permanently for the likes of Pools.

According to the OS yes, amazing what difference 3 points makes to your league position, if we'd drawn at Stevenage, at home to Stockport and at Crawley we'd be well chuffed with 3 points from those 3 games too, probably more so.

Fair enough, but you can only try to sign him.

Yes of course. He is a proper footballer and has shown he is very capable at this level. If we could get him to sign for us it would be fantastic.

Just watched the goals on the Sky Sports website. Menayese's header from the corner was sublime: beautifully angled and very powerful. Most centre Forwards would have been pleased with it.

If you had to choose, taking the 3 points tonight and Crawley getting none is more valuable because they're in our mini-league at the bottom.
