Micky Nelson was doing his best to get Blyth relegated from the NLN for the first half of last season so Carver could well have been his recommendation.

See Nelson is now temporary manager at Scunthorpe - wonder how many mirrors the Iron broke to deserve that?

how many failures do you need before clubs just stay away from people like that. things have not changed in 40 years when i was told getting into football is the hard thing. once in you can have a job of some description for life.

Good to get Curle signed. Now it depends on Raj keeping his promise of a good transfer kitty. I have a terrible feeling if we do not get out of this, he will throw his toys out of the pram, demand his money back and walk as he did at Darlington.

Keith Curle was adamant again last night that he is going to get the backing he needs in January. That said, persuading anybody to come to Pools is going to be a bloody hard sell if the the rest of the results this month are anything like yesterdays.

It's time to tell the likes of Jamie Sterry they've had all the recuperation they're going to get and play them on Friday night at Crawley. The likes of Tumilty and Murray are just not Football League standard. It's been obvious for months.

next game at crawley will be one of the hardest KC has had in management. after the obvious bollockings after yesterday he,ll have to get confidence in the camp for an even bigger game than yesterday. its a funny old game is football as we could go there and come back with 3 points and stockport getting a bad result at rochdale.

Look at Harrogate - piss poor at Pools in the cup even before they had a man sent off and 4-1 winners at Rochdale the week after. We're no worse than Harrogate overall but we'll get nothing at Crawley or anywhere else as long as Killip and the current back four keep gifting goals to the opposition.

Yes, if you give the opposition a two goal start as Pools have so often done this season, putting points on the board is close to impossible.

Can we have the emergency keeper back please…?

Keith Curle watched Hallam Hope today at Oldham. Curle signed him for Carlisle and Oldham.

When he joined Carlisle in 2017:

"I’ve probably chased Hallam more than I’ve ever chased anyone else through my whole life - ex-wife, ex-partner and current girlfriend included!"
