I think by saying you cannot work with the Chairman, who owns 51% of the business, you are in a dodgy position.

It's also rumoured that he has been in contact with Crewe about their vacant managerial position.

In the local rag, Guy Mowbray, the BBC commentator has asked for his " not insignificant" donation to the Boost the Budget fund to be returned, he's that pissed off with the way this has been handled.

so when was looking for a better job seen as a sacking offence even if that was not the reason they gave.

It isn’t an offence, correct…but be honest, if you were the owner and found your manager was a looking for another job, it’s time to part company because he’s off eventually.
That aside though, it’s obvious the owner and manager clashed, so it was always gonna end in tears.

like in all jobs professional people do not like being told by amateurs who just pick bits up along the way or even criticised by them even in private. players themselves might not like their manager but many dislike mr.chairman more if he interferes.

yes like town councillors on the parks and cemetary committee telling gardeners what to do when they could not tell a dandilion from a daffodil before they got on the council and ny a miracle they became experts overnight.

I’ve long suspected that of those who buy football clubs a good percentage do it because they think the can bring their own expertise in their business to work in owning a football club…… a heady mixture of ego and ambition.
Running a football club is like herding cats, only harder…… because the business on the field is out of your control. Then they find out they’re not so much in charge, but just a ‘Milch Cow’ as the Germans like to say.

think the majority start with good intentions but once things do not work out as they hope there is a tendancy to try to get involved with on field matters. really wonder how everyone on here would react and run the show if they were raj. we have all seen what not to do but what mistakes would we make along the way when our intentions would be a 100 per cent good.

If I won the Lottery and bought Pools, that’s the one scenario that would baffle me, how do you pick a manager, because if they balls up you carry the can.
To be honest, I couldn’t be doing with the responsibility, I’d rather invest in a club as a board member but avoid the dreaded owner title.

The York Chairman is clearly a big headed idiot. Technically he owns 51% and has the whip hand but he still needs to keep in with The YCFC Trust, and also the fans themselves.

York have spent the best part of a decade trying to get a good feeling back in the club and now it seems it's evaporated over night because of the poorly handled sacking of a popular and capable manager.

This character (Henderson?) wants to pick the team and choose the style of football and this is a recipe for disaster and as for the fans themselves (who the Trust should speak for, but in this case couldn't or didn't!) they are feeling very disgruntled - because they've had a long trip to get back to the National League, just seen a little bit of sunshine, and now the rain's come back.

I reckon there's a dodgy situation brewing at York, if the 51/49% model has failed so badly, so quickly - how can this be resolved? Resolved properly, not with platitudes and B.S.

I dunno but Phil Collins famously divorced wife number 2 by sending a FAX!

(I think she was called Jill, out of all his wives, she was my favourite)

I think York need a new owner, he isn’t gonna change, the model isn’t practical.

The Trust decided to sell him a 51% stake in York meaning they lost control of the Club - more fool them!
