I received an email from Shell to say there were going to more than double my DD, my current DD more than covers the charges along with the government grant. I tried to alter it online but it will only allow me to lower it a couple pounds.
These energy companies are taking the p***, scaremongering people, my daughter and my mate both received similar emails and both have said they are in credit with government grants and there is no need to increase their DD.

They reduced mine from £150 to £122 and with the £66 discount they will be taking £56 a month

I can live with that

On the news yesterday these energy companies have 2 billion quid of customers money by takeing the piss on overcharging DD customers.
A decent government would do something about it.
They must have shares in these company's as well as the drugs firms makeing the covid injections.
Total Coruption n shirt n tie burglary.
Vote REFORM at next GE.

The energy companies work on fear factor persuading customers to increase their DDs when there is no mandatory requirement to do so. My energy company is for ever trying to increase my DD even though I am in credit, the thing is they put a limit what I can change to online which results in a phone call explaining there is no need for me to increase my DD.

Slightly different for me with regards to EDF, my Gas supplier. I didn't ask but they refunded £298.86 that I was in credit, direct to my bank on 6 December. Would have preferred that they left me in credit as I knew my bills would be higher through December to March.
I had then tried to increase my D.D. from £100 to £150 monthly but got no where with them. Anyway as I have previously mentioned I read my Gas & Electricity every Wednesday and yesterday I had used £163.61 during December so far, leaving me now owing £63.61.
Then would you believe it, I receive an email this morning from them saying my D.D. was being reduced from £100 to £92 per month.
You just couldn't make it up - what a bunch of complete tossers.
