Pools second is a header straight from a corner

Solihull's second - well, when Hastie is practically last man you know you're in trouble.

its not the extra game that bothers me its another game where someone is bound to get injured and misses a few games. sounds as if lacey got injured yesterday to add to the treatment room numbers. just why do so many get injured now and take so long to recover.

Decent result away from home, Pools are improving, well done lads.

Pools should be able to get the win in the replay and that'll be another match added to the fixture list. Will it be 'oh dear, what about the potential injuries' or 'who might we get in the 3rd Round?'

KC said in his post-match interview that he always prefers playing games and he's the one who has to manage the injury situation. Good enough for me.

all managers say that so why do they rest players for certain games. its not as if many come in and do enough to stake their claim in the side once given the chance. think one thing we,ll all agree on is if everyone was available our preferred starting 11 would be very similar indeed.

A player can get injured in training or driving their car…. It’s part of the game.

Micky Spelman slipped on a patch of oil back along before a third round tie at Man City which basically destroyed our midfield as he didn't play. Wasn't there some other player someplace who had a stupid injury with a sauce bottle or something similar?

christmas and new year have always been a popular time for players to suddenly pick up an injury or suspension. many years ago at rochdale the whole side knew that a certain old ex top flight player would get injured in the game before christmas and only became available after new year.

The prize money is £41k for winning the tie plus a share of the gate. Not to be sneezed at.

I guess to save costs on:-
Stewarding
Policing
Lighting
Kiosk staff
Gate staff
Ticket sellers
Anything else I've missed

Northern League teams on the local news last night saying they've cancelled some cup competitions (evening) to save on the floodlight costs.

Or a ready made excuse to cancel anyway through lack of interest from clubs, players and fans. Know the costs will vary from club to club but i,d love to know the actual cost of lighting for a night game. Asked the question a number of times back in the day i reffed in east anglia infront of one man and a dog but never got an answer even back then.

Apparently the cup competition concerned is one of the oldest in the World, representative from Ashington being interviewed said something along the lines of the floodlights needed 40k worth of maintenance that they just cannot afford or justify paying.
Why shouldn't games kick off earlier on a Saturday afternoon?, makes sense to do so.

pre floodlights we,d kick off at 2.15. now with all the added time we get now i,m sure a 2pm kick off would be fine and i doubt the hour difference would affect home or away fans attending. actually finishing a hour earlier might be of benefit to some.

Cannot work out why they should do this to save money?
It seems a short sighted idea in my opinion, no home fans behind goal. if its pissing down alot of people won't go, the fact we could play Harrogate at home in the next round, you would think warranted the town end to be open?

It's the FA Cup. With decent money paid out with progression.. not the pizza cup.

its a cash cow for lower league and non league sides. what benefits did we see out of our cup run and what will alvechurch fans see out of theirs. pay off the debts or at best a few new seats in their main or only stand or new bogs for the directors.
