Although they're struggling noticed they took 2300 fans to Halifax on Saturday, then on checking they're only 16 miles apart, also Torquay rock bottom of that league, reckon that could have been us if we'd lost that play-off final.

They've just signed Mark Kitching on a 2 & a half year deal. Also have Zaine Francis Angol in their squad. Would definitely have him back !

One of the worst decisions in Pools history letting Angol go!!!

plus our old mate fondop. agree on zf angol though and some at stockport feel the same. seems a player for some reason that fans rate higher than managers and i have never seen him have a nightmare unlike others who do not get dropped for it.

Would much rather have ZFA and Kitching at CB than Murray and Lacey

Think Fondop has 4 goals to his name this season which, fair play to him, must be his best ever return and certainly more than I ever thought him capable of.

I’d rather have our lass and Ratboy than Murray and Lacey, but Kitching…? Nah.

Kitch always reminded me of a badly behaved Red Setter. :animals-dogrun:

Olomola scored the winner for Wealdstone and Amond the winner for Woking, thought he was better level than that.

those 2 may not be that good but imagine coming out with kitching and the small ZFA as centre backs. Think the lack of height of the latter has held him back in the game.

thats got me thinking about january and these world beaters that are going to be signed to save our season. Even decent lads not getting regular games will be not surpless to requirements at clubs if they are decent. only the dross will be especially from teams in your own league. our only chance is hopefully having a good relationship with the 3 other north east clubs to get decent loaness who have played a bit in the league and not kids who may have once been an unused sub in some cup game.

If you’re hoping for any help from the so called ‘big three’ you might as well abandon all hope now. I’ve noticed some decent players on loan to other clubs from them, but for some reason we get nothing of any substance and never will.

Or maybe KC has some lined up, After all he did state in his lastest interview that agents have been on to him regarding players
Who will be free come January.
Maybe has some already lined up, Nudge nudge.

I don't think maybe has to come into it. He simply HAS to strengthen in January with only one chance of doing it successfully.

The idea that only "dross" is available in the January transfer window is more nonsense of the 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here' variety. I already mentioned on another thread that Carlisle signed 9 players last January - 5 permanent deals and 4 loans. Their January transfer business was enough to keep them up and they're in a play-off place so far this season.

Not saying Pools will sign as many as 9 this January but I expect they'll be a sight more busy than they were last January, when the complacency that got us in this mess was in full swing. Keith Curle is on record that Raj is willing right now to fund more free agent signings but he's turned the offer down. As mentioned above, he's working towards getting players who can improve the side in in January. It looks to me like his job is safe till then and Raj will back his judgement in the transfer window.

There is another factor present in our entry into the transfer market in January and that is the air of desperation. Agents/players/clubs will sense an air of desperation and that might stall/delay/negate any deals right up until the final day/hour/minute thus making the task of bedding new faces in that bit more difficult.
I would hope KC has a few decent loan signings lined up effective from Jan 1st, a situation that could prove crucial.

They would be right to smell desperation. Because we are.

What they smell is the chance of extra cash and will drag it out to get it. We need new faces in as near to Jan 1st as possible to give us longer to benefit from them, which is where decent loanees will help. We can then lessen the desperation, which I agree we are in.

Well Mr Singh will have to weigh up what costs more, paying a premium on a few players in January or relegation

Of course he will. He will do exactly what he sees as fit.
One day everybody will have to accept that is the reality, until someone else decides to take up the reins and you can turn your attention to putting the next incumbent under the spotlight and the next one after that and so on, until the day arrives when you receive your cheque for megabucks from the lottery and you can have a go. And guess what, you will get exactly the same treatment with everybody who doesn't agree with you telling you how to do the job and how to spend your money.
That's what fans do and nobody is immune from it.

If we had any ambition as a club we would pop up the road to Sunderland and offer them £250k for Jack Diamond, currently on loan at Lincoln and their top scorer, look how Harrogate's fortunes have faltered since he left there last season, proven match winner at this level.
They would probably want a lot more and we couldn't afford him anyway, therefore we have to cut our cloth to suit.
Our priority is a capable centre half, midfielder and another keeper with league experience.

could be because we never went in for him in the first place or they wanted him loaned out to a team in a higher league. for a premier league club surely they will be graded as the best go to the championship, next best to div.1 and so on. only if you have a really close relationship with a club is when you can get a loaneee who is better than the ones you should.

What about getting Timi Odusina back on loan from Bradford?, he's not getting a game there and has only featured in 3 games this season, he hasn't played since their home defeat to Stockport in which he hooked him at half time after giving away a penalty, Hughes obviously doesn't rate him, I'd have him back. Bet he wishes he'd never left.

Odusina has been talked down on here quite a bit but was popular with fans at the Vic. Can't see it happening but I'd be happy if it did.

We’ll that’s a fat lot of good. Tell you what, I’ll pop through and pick him up in the motor, he can sit in the back with Ratboy whose basically a Patterdale on steroids with instructions not to let him out of the car till he decides to play for us.

he might be an improvement on what we have got but his main failing was defending corners and crosses. i would have him back as long as we had an experianced garry liddle type along side him.

and all three self inflicted from mistakes at the top. not teams who have just suffered with poor recruitment with players not living up to what they did in the past in the same league.

I watched a piece on the BBC about Oldham before their recent FA Cup game. They have a new owner and also Joe Royle and his son have invested in the club he once got into the Premiership.

When asked why the club had experienced such a steep decline Royle said that too many football decisions had been made by non-football people. Sounds familiar.
