I’ve been going to Pools since 1949 and this is one of the worst squads if not the worst I believe we have had. I don’t think any manager has a chance with the present players and I would worry for our survival in the National League with the present players.

far worse than the team who relegated us last time. imagine this lot with jones in charge.

I think we may be reliant on loans from the other NE clubs come January.

Spennymoor?

Sorry to bump up an old thread. Looking for proof to send to a family member who's a pools fan who keeps on saying Ryan and Rob wanted Pools first. I've been telling him he's wrong since 2020, it was confirmed by our old Chief Executive at the first meeting about the same (Oct 2020) that talks had been ongoing since May and they were not the consortium that approached Hartlepool. I do believe it's just an urban myth due to timings and wanting to believe it. Good luck for the rest of the season I'm sure you'll be save. Harrogate are in free fall more than you. Curle will get you enough points.

Thanks for the confirmation….another ‘myth’ put to bed as a fantasy that grew legs.

Yeah it was a different pair of anomymous wealthy Americans preferring not to give their identity who just so happened to be looking for a football club at National League level. It is entirely coincidental that all these things came into alignment at exactly the right time to suggest that it was the same people. The veiled references that folks who were involved in the process have made are entirely misunderstood. I know it looks like it a duck and sounds like a duck but until I see cast iron evidence that its a duck then its a myth......even if its just in reality a duck.

You're right Snowy but I think its far too much of a stretch to reality to imagine that this wasn't the same pair. Nobody at Wrexham wants to feel like second choice so that's what they are going with. They shouldn't even mind it. Their trust didn't need money for the club as they are..... a trust! Our owner did a he's a businessmen. I would gladly our club be someones second choice if they were going to transform it.

Incidentally, I'm glad you're still on here talking away. Folks put faith and Raj and he has managed to chuck it back in their faces but long after he goes, us Poolies will remain.

I'm still amazed we are pulling in the crowds we are, imagine what we would be getting if even just on the fringe of the play offs.

enjoy it whilst we can for at least 1,000 of these will be missing after relegation and will only be back if we are in the top few next season with exciting football where we outscore teams at the vic in the national league.

How many are season tickets? If something like 3000 then that's why we still getting decent crowds possibly.

Don’t mind admitting I was drawn in by the guff at the start of the season, couldn’t see how it could go wrong, result……treat every comment from the club under this management with cynicism now, which is a pity…… like the song goes ’ Won’t get fooled again’.
Mind you, it won’t be the first time, or the last time either.

fans live in hope during the summer and many are prepared to believe anything in the hope that this season will be the one. thing is only 4 clubs will go up so the vast majority live in varying degrees of dissapointment. really its more sensible to walk away from football as you do not know what will be in any game till you see it. its not the pictures where you are told what to expect before you walk in.
