On Talksport this morning, and when the interview ended he asked Simon Jordan for a bit of advice on air….he said he was thinking of investing in Morecambe, his hometown club..
Jordan hesitated and said back….”You mean throwing your money at it”….end of conversation.

He will be throwing his money at it and, for a while, he will be hailed for that. If he doesn't throw what the fans consider to be enough then he will be public enemy number one.
I have no idea how much he is worth or, better still, the size of his intended investment but there will come a day when it will be considered not enough.
But hey it is his money and he will do with as he sees fit and that is fine until the fans start telling him he needs to spend more because they see it as their right to do so.
Sounds all too familiar doesn't it.

Thing is it’s not in his hands, depends who he wants as manager.

Make the right appointment and bingo, pick a duffer and duck for cover. Hero to Zero overnight.
The only business where people invest money in something they know nowt about.

My advice to the big fella.
Dont recruit a manager from
The league of Wales. Harrison or
Scotland dog n duck leagues Hartley and he should be ok.

I’d check the statistics Kev…..Harrison had the same win percentage as Hignett in charge and Mick Docherty had a worse record than Hartley which was dire

Think of the money saved on stewarding and policing the Morecambe ground if he was around..He's cash rich big time and could bank that club for years to come on one comeback fight against a nobody. He can well afford a little dabble.

Just what we need….a ‘cash rich big time owner who can afford a dabble’ ….. I ‘ve been waiting 50 years for such a saviour and IOR apart, still scanning the empty horizon.

fury might as well chuck all his money away at morecambe. something that seems to happen to many ex top boxers. life of riches one minute and a few years later they are skint and making a comeback. if the club doesn,t get it someone else will.

Wonder what Morecambe’s potential is crowd wise.? Sounded to me like he was looking for something to do and funding his local football club seemed like a grand way to do it.
Trouble is, no matter how much money he pumps in, if he gets the rest wrong it counts for nothing… the keys the manager.

actually anyone putting money into morecambe will have an easier ride than anyone at pools would. think their fans are still just happy to support a league club where with us its all about success. if i wasn,t a fan of either club i know where i,d put my money and it aint pools.

know boxing was quite a popular sports amongst the boys at one time and still might be. go back through the mists of time it would not suprise me if some old boy was an ABA champion or finalist. same in football where many became top amateur players.

Know someone from Morecambe, Fury is out and about there all the time. Not one of these who move to London or Monaco after getting a bit of money so fair play to him.

During the interview he expressed his love of the town that’s his home and interest in the team. I felt it was something he’d been considering for some time.
You don’t go into football at this level to make big bucks, but I applaud anyone willing to put money into their local club and not do it just for a return on the money.
