May a long way off but this game is huge towards preserving our EFL status.
Harrogate due a win.
Pools due an away win.
2 2.

Harrogate not won in 10 games, we all know how pools like to help clubs out on a bad run. Hopefully pools surprise us with a 1-2 win!

We could do with a win, would be a massive boost. You look at Harrogates record though and you just know we are like a gift that keeps giving, to clubs on bad runs.

Pools specialise in a complete balls up when a sacrificial team is offered on a plate.
Our match always coincides with them regaining their form and ours doing a complete nose dive…. if that’s possible.
Expect the worst. sadx

I hope Curle does succeed, but the comment was tongue in cheek,we do have a record down the years of playing a team on poor run and we all expect to give them a trouncing…and find they’ve recovered.

Can't argue with the accuracy of your statement and I suspect most Poolie's would agree, its just that it is not normally the kind of thing you would post but I get it that it was tongue in cheek.

A bit of nostalgia, now. I remember the first time I experienced this phenomenon when I was a lad around 1971/72. Pools were at home to Swansea who were bottom of the league and hadn't won a game since the start of the season. As I was only a lad and not an experienced Poolie, I was expecting a comfortable Pools win. Of course, it was a dour horrible game and the Swans won 1-0.

Don’t worry Mr Ozzy I haven’t went over to the ‘Dark Side’….. like you, I was at Pools when they were needing them not feeding them a phrase oddly enough used by a dear friend of mine frequently in the Navy…. with any moaners…even odder, his nickname was ….’Ozzy’…. bless him.

Harrogate Town 0 Pools 2 Umerah and Ferguson. Luke Armstrong misses a penalty. It pisses down all afternoon.

a lot really depends on which pools turn up. the one in the last 30 minutes at mansfield or the one in the second half last week. be interesting how josh is used. starter or second half sub. is robinson available or injured yet.

According to the Mail, Robinson starts and Sterry returns but Menanysie (sp) is still injured. I have a feeling Armstrong will show a dramatic return to form against our central defence.

how the black and yellow bastards are winning 2 nil is beyond me. both teams making errors at the back but its pools having to pay for it. this game isn,t over yet and the next goal is important. robinson doing better than i expected as well.

Killip at fault for second.

My prediction is still on.

"4-3 to Bettys bunch."

Players who obviously are not good enough for this level such as Killip, Crawford and Shelton will see us down to the NL without a whimper.

game over. not to much football on show there but pools provided most of it. however finishing a game with both shelton and mr.walking football himself the one and only tom crawford i suppose what chance does it give you.

well we knew how to make their keeper look good anyway. put the ball in the air inside the box and he lapped it up. first half showed he looked a bit suspect with shots on the deck but somehow the players and management staff missed it.

One of the half time stats I noticed was defensive headers we won only 29%.

I don't think any of us are surprised we gave Harrogate there first win in 11 games.

Think it's maybe time one or two people inside the club had a good look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves, how a club on the up 15 months ago, could lose all of its decent players, sign up a squad of conference north footballers, masquerading as football leaguers.

No doubt we are all waiting for January to once again miss out on all these quality players were in for. We have certainly been sold down the river without a paddle this time.

I'm beginning to think there isn't an answer to this problem unless we can somehow limp along to January without losing too much ground.
Curle should know more about picking teams than I do but some of his choices leave me wondering.
Has Ferguson ever played centre back before. Did Sylla pick up an injury cos if he didn't there lies another mystery.
Leaving Crawford on the pitch today was a bit baffling but I suppose the real problem is not of Curle's choices but the lack of quality available to him.
We did have a few chances though but Harrogate could have had more goals as well.
Are there two clubs who can save us? I wouldn't bet on it.

To be fair, we were missing our best centre half, Menayese and our best deputy centre half, Niang. Not saying we would have won if they played but I think we would have been harder to beat. Ah well, an afternoon of hoping Crawley, Rochdale, Colchester etc get beat. Away at Swindon will be another thumping, I fear.

They’re like homing pigeons trying to get us back to where they belong….. just not good enough at this level, oh for an enforcer in midfield and two centre backs…. sadx

Ferguson wasn't playing centre back. He was left back in a back four. Patterson was left midfield, supposed to be providing width for the front two. He had a dreadful first 45 and was rightly subbed. Ferguson was even worse but stayed on.

Agree about Sylla. If he wasn't injured and was subbed ahead of Shelton and Crawford that's inexcusable.

In the first half Ferguson played left side centre back in a back three. He went to left back after half time in a four four two. That was how they lined up, mentioned more than once by Eddie Kyle.

OK not pissing down but sunny winndying down Snowy. Does anybody remember a truly awful Euro entry (1977) Lynsey De Paul and Mike Moran singing ROCK BOTTOM. Sums up my thoughts except for my sensing that Jamie Sterry is not too happy and will soon want away. Hope I'm wrong but not the same player.
