I get he’s a ‘tidy footballer’ and there are worse here than him
This season but am surprised how highly rated he seems to be
Pro’s
Decent on the ball and looks up before he passes
Con’s
Slow
Weak as piss
Not great positionally
Never scores

Not sure he does enough to warrant a guaranteed start

Crawford was appalling how he made it past half time only the management know and probably says more about the other so called midfield players than him. We lost and we will lose more games than we win as the players are just not up to the standard required for league 2. The management can only do so much but as a whole they are garbage as simple as that out of the 11 that started and those that came on at most 4 are at a standard of league 2 the rest are total dross and that is being generous but it’s all about opinions

We’re in a battle, we need battlers and fighters not sightseers.
Crawford is one of those players who flatters to deceive. Oh he’s tidy and some of his show trick moves catch the eye occasionally, but his dire situational awareness is his downfall.
He appears to play out of sync with the team, ploughs his own path so to speak sorry but league football his way above his level in my eyes, even the National League is probably beyond him, Darlo could be his level.
If he applied himself, the talent he has could be put to good purpose, but he appears to be playing for himself.

hope all this crawford knocking is from the whole of the season and not just the scapegoat for a home defeat. for me he has his best games when the team is playing better like the second half on tuesday night when he decided to put a shift in. that seems his problem of just deciding to put a shift in as if the side is up against it he is annonymous. is this the reason he gives the impression of just doing iy for himself. he has played now under 5 managers who seem to pick him, but do they rate hum, there is no one else or blinds them as he is excellent on the training pitch which seems something they love.

Four managers dropped him regularly. At the moment he has no competition.

Agree on both counts. Daft to pretend that Crawford never plays well but when Pools are under the cosh he is a liability. Same goes for Cooke from the look of things. Curle summed it up in his post-match comments:"We didn't win enough first contacts and certainly didn't get anywhere near second contacts and that's where you win games in midfield."

Watch their first goal yesterday. Crawford with nobody near him heads it straight to their guy, then he turns his back on him in a half hearted challenge, then McDonald pulls out of a 50-50 and lets their guy run forward to shoot and score. And people come on here and blame the back four. That midfield will get us relegated.

McDonald can neither tackle nor head the ball, But he does not hide the fact.
You get what you see.

but managers will still insist that players like him have to come back and defend corners where at the best they are useless and at worst get in the way of those who can defend.

Crawford is one of the most frustrating mids we have ever had - why he doesnt play out of skin is apparant - there isnt anyone currently challenging so he just glides through the game knowing he will get picked week in week out - doesnt have any commitment at all and seems to put a tackle in once every 4 games. Must be made of pot that lad has he scared shitless when any 50/50 or shoulder challenge comes his way - annoys the hell out of me ! yes there is nice bits to his game but he doesnt do enough of the box to box stuff we need in that part of the park - Feaths is finished and realistically we only have Niang to rely on to fill that gap. Cooke is also a massive let down !

the midfield does have to take its fair share of the blame for me also - Mcdonald is starting to show the frustrations his previous clubs fans thought of him - one trick pony and off the pace at times and no end product 75% of the time - can see all that now

Prefer cooke to Crawford, he has a bit more of a competitive streak about him

crawford typifies a lot of lads in the game today. skill levels far above the size of his heart. thought at one time things clicked with him but now gone backwards. hope the next time his brain clicks it will not be too late for him and pools.

Crawford needs a goal in him - id forgive the rest of his game if he banged in the odd goal or could score from a free kick
