Listening to Talksport this morning and they were discussing the manager’s job at Notts Forest….. apparently the chairman bought players and the manager was supposed to ‘ make it work out’…..
I hate this, because I’m firmly of the opinion that it’s the sole responsibility of the manager to sign players and have the final say on who gets signed..
If Owners want to start that game why not appoint themselves as manager and when it goes tits up they can sack themselves.

Totally agree but it appears to be the trend nowadays.

Maybe its more about the murky world of football finance than football.

When managers were retitled as ‘coaches’ and players were bought by someone else with a poncey title in the club, you could see a problem coming.
Bit like getting someone else to go out and choose your next car and discover the classic example of German precision engineering is a turquoise Trabent GT……0 to 60 eventually.
