1 goal in 11 games for Harrogate. What's happened to him?

Harrogate’s happened to him, there’s more atmosphere on the Moon.

I think it must be hard to score goals in a struggling side, however talented you might be. I see Harrogate lost at home again today. Christiano Rinaldo is finding this out as well although it is not quite the same.

"Breaking the bank" on one player is either the act of a very rich man or a massive gamble. One bad tackle could put him out for months and then what.
Luke Armstrong was very good for us in the short time he was with us. Previously Salford had him and didn't appear to rate him. At Harrogate he appears to be going backwards, or not as effective a la his Salford days. Could the same be said about Oates??? Maybe their partnership just clicked and they actually miss each other.

Y’know you could have a point there.
In theory you could match up two top forwards and they produce little in return because their styles, attitude, personalities or they’re just mismatched, pairings sometimes don’t work out. There’s a bit more to it than just expecting players to gel.
Let’s be honest though, turning out for Harrogate in front of a cast of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ clones could be a bit disheartening.

He extended his contract with Harrogate in the summer https://www.harrogatetownafc.com/news-m ... -contract/ . Must be happy/content there.

Armstrong scored 14 in all competitions for Harrogate last season and Oates got 10 for Mansfield. Considering they'd gone up a level to League 2 they probably feel they went forwards rather than backwards last season. They've only got one apiece so far this season but it's still early days.

Harrogate look like they're in for a tough old season though and Armstrong will do very well to get into double figures. Same goes for Josh Umerah but he's already half way there

Oates has been injured for awhile I believe, hence the 1 goal. Think Mansfield fans think a bit of him.

I'm referring to the here and now, not last season, as the words " At Harrogate he appears to be going backwards" i,e, the present tense, would suggest. Then "could the same be said about Oates" is a question not an observation, which has been answered by the answer that he's injured.

My mistake - I thought there might be more to your comment than appearing to judge a player's form on his first 13 of the season, none of which you will have seen...

I am not judging him on what I've seen but on his current goalscoring record. If Raj broke the bank to bring in a goalscorer from our division whose current tally was 1 league goal I wouldn't be happy. You seem to be happy on Luke's last season form, how many times did you see him play.
Pools are being judged on this season are they not.

Some people judge him on his Salford form before he came to us.

My break the bank quote was a bit tongue in cheek. For Raj at the moment it is like spending anything on playing staff. Something is going on at the club at the moment IMO but don't know what.

If you want my opinion on that it is that there are negotiations on a take over or at least more involvement by interested parties. Obviously Suit Direct spring to mind but the dilemma could be around control i.e. full or partial which are producing sticking points.
I could be way of beam but I have it in my head and it's prominent.

Not sure if 'control' is the right word. 'Cluster' is more appropriate for this season. Something distracting could be going on. Balls being dropped everywhere.

both true apart for some watching who were old emmerdallones as well. even if pools got him on the cheap i doubt we,d be willing to match the wages he is on. money is the only thing anyone would ever go to harrogate for. not the best chat up line in a club for a footballer saying you play for them, i,d actually lie and say i played for darlo instead.
