Typically a very physical team, am already dreading Lacey and Murray standing up to that on Saturday, could be another Walsall coming on unless Hartley sees sense and brings in some strength at the back
Sterry and Ferguson back too please injury permitting we don’t have much but let’s play our best players Paul ok ?

expect jack shit out of this game. however after watching football for far too long unexpected results always pop up quite regularly and a pools victory down there will hardly be an earth shattering event.

the unexpected may come for us when we are expecting feck all ! Maguire to get a hattrick

who knows but Sutton arnt going to be going into this game fearing us tbh ! our midfield is light weight too unless we get Sylla in there as id expect Cooke to be injured. Crawford needs to up his game aswell and close men down quicker. Some good passages of play he made last night but having a man on him and kicking lumps out of him doesnt suit his game and i fear we may see one of his games where he literally goes hiding

I think if we don't win tomorrow then that will be the end of Hartley.

Sutton 1-2 Pools

You sack a manager after 8 league games, it was unfortunate Pools conceded 2 late goals which wasn’t the managers fault.
I’ll ask the same question I always ask, who are you going to replace him with ?

Really not looking forward to this one. I wonder if Hartley realizes what Sutton are like? I dont think he should be sacked due to the Sutton result, far better teams than Pools will come unstuck at Sutton.

especially after better pools sides have struggled there. isn,t the bloke under enough pressure anyway as this constant hartley out if we do not do this or that aint going to turn things around for us. neither will be some deadline or other but saying all this some decision will eventually have to be made on his future even though i doubt anyone can give a replacements name or the guarentee of them turning things around apart from the short honeymoon period that both oldham and scunthorpe had with their two eventual managerial failures.

Pools are turning into the draw specialists - albeit at the wrong end of the table just now. But should we get a result some time soon i think we will eventually steady the ship and sit somewhere close to the bottom (outside of trouble) for the rest of the season.

yes we are turd at keeping the lead in games atm but aslong as we can at least grab some points on the road its not all doom and gloom - we do have the ability i believe with Umerah back and hopefully Maguire in the side to see us get a draw at Sutton this weekend - hoping Sterry and Sylla are back too - plus the more time i see Niang getting the better i think he will be - can see him being an important player for us come the end of the season

Singh sacked Colin Todd after 9 games & no wins then replaced him with Steve Staunton  worst move ever.
Went through about 50 players that season and another 2 managers before the following season started.

Tomorrow is a free hit,no one expects anything,we've a terrible record there.
I can't see PH getting the sack if we get beat, but it will be a different matter if we fail to beat Gillingham next week.

Teams are often in a false position after 10 or even 15 games. My pessimism after Tuesday night is that I keep looking for signs that this Pools side is improving but they're just not there. The fact that the opposition invariably finishes the game stronger than us is a particular worry.

Paul Hartley's future is still in his own hands but we all know how Raj operates - it's obvious the manager hasn't got long to turn things around.

For the record, the managers who started the season at Oldham and Scunthorpe were each given 15 games to get things right. Scunthorpe were only a point from safety and Oldham were actually third bottom, so you could argue their chairmen jumped the gun by sacking them at the beginning of November. Pools are on 4 points from 8 games - things need to improve quite a bit for Hartley even to get up to the 11-12 points they were on when they got the bullet.

Teams like Pools are rarely going to be cruising by 2 or 3 goals with 10 mins to go.
and no matter what you say about continuing to attack there is always a time when you go defensive and the opposition get desperate and more direct.
In this divsion not many teams are great creatively so just get more physical as the game nears its end.
Unfortunately we have 2 jellyfish at centre half so can't stand up to that.....the pattern of conceding late goals to fairly shite teams and losing points is likely to repeat itself if we have the current players.

I don't want Hartley sacked but if he plays the likes of Patterson, Murray and Lacey against Sutton I will question his ability to adapt or think ahead--we desperately need more physicality at the back.

You’ve been saying that before every game including the friendlies never mind Gillingham, you’d wet your pants if he got the bullet….. so put double pads in your bri nylon anti static Y fronts just just in case.

always think chairmen/owners think sacking managers is the magic bullet for success. of a team is mid table and underperforming there might be a reason to change things. most teams who are struggling is really due to the players not being good enough. rarely does bringing in a new manager changes this and is harder to do now with the restriction on when you can bring new players in especially with this squad limit where you have to move some out before you can bring some in. somehow i doubt raj would want to pay players who cannot play because they have been removed from the squad. both scunthorpe and oldham might have gone down anyway last season but their new managers didn,t change things one bit.

This season is looking very much like season 89/90 . A Scottish manager, a very poor start and questions asked about the players fitness levels. The manager lasted until December before being replaced by Cyril Knowles, who instantly ordered extra training and brought in 4 players. The rest is history. P.H. has still got time to turn things round and today would be a good time to start. Another defeat will put his position in real danger. I wish him the best of luck.

Other than 2 draws (1-1 & 0-0) there has only been 1 goal difference in all their matches so far this season whether they have won or lost.

The maximum goals they have scored in any one match has been 2.

Going, unfortunately, for a 2-1 defeat.

4-1 Sutton, with us 2 down in first 30mins is my guess

Well we got to HT and have restricted them, so far very encouraging. BIG question is will our fitness hold out or will we collapse with 15 minutes to go?

HT 0-0
Pools with most of the play without causing their keeper much trouble not had to make a save so far.
Containing Sutton comfortably at the moment.
The worry is we don’t look like scoring, and if Sutton nick one can’t see a way back.
Plenty of battling to be fair, especially Senna.

2 class saves from Killip, then dodgy 2nd goal,
Held our own in the first half, but no where near good enough in the 2nd.

Can,t see where we go from here, as a club.

Didn’t see the game so won’t comment on performance , but the face I expected more of a hiding and my reaction to yet another loss is ‘meh’ shows how bad this is all going

I think I said a few weeks ago Gillingham would be our first win…maybe I was an optimist

Just wondering when the attacking free flowing football kicks in

Pools are averaging just 2 shots on target per game and are facing around 6 / 7 per game (6 goals scored in 9 games)

I don't blame the players, but the tactics are shocking. For me, this is on the manager.

Hartlepool shots Hartlepool shots on Target Shots faced Shots faced on target
Walsall 4 2 21 11 4 - 0 loss
Wimbledon 12 2 7 4 0 - 0 draw
Northampton 11 3 21 10 2 -1 loss
Tranmere 6 1 13 5 0 - 0 draw
Bradford 6 2 13 6 3 -1 loss
Leyton Orient 9 2 22 7 4 -2 loss
Colchester 7 1 13 5 1 - 1 draw
Crewe 15 5 12 3 1 - 1 draw
Sutton 7 1 10 6 2 -0 loss
77 19 132 57
8.56 2.11 14.67 6.33
Per game Per game Per game Per game

Goals Scored 6
Goals Conceded 17

Really poor today right across the pitch. Second best all game to Sutton who weren't that good.
Why did he sign the lad from Barnsley and not bring him on as a sub at least when Hasties form is so poor? Baffling.

Thankfully other teams are struggling nearly as much as we are, although the teams above have all won at least one game.

No one can argue raj has to take action.

Bang on.
But the braindead trolls on here will no doubt cause arguments over your concern.
PH Out.

Do not fear within a few hours everything will be fine, the Scottish no hopers from the dog and duck leagues will be made out to be some sort of superstars. The manager we struggled to bring in from real cove will still be the answer to our problems. Raj will of spent bucket loads on this team even though most with a bit of reality actually realise that's nonsense.

Relegation certainties have been from game 1 and 9 games in looks even more nailed on. Time for the club to wake the f##k up. Poolie 1 be popping on in a bit to say Sutton have spent millions on there team, while hiding the fact we spend peanuts.

And yes… hate to say I told you so! Football doesn’t work in the way we approached it this summer. And before you give me some shit… it hurts more than you will know the absolute state of our football team.
