On a worldwide online marketplace in around 4 hours time, a Pools v Man. U. 1957 FA Cup programme will be sold, bidding is up to £45 so far, but, trust me, it’s a fake! It’s a facsimile, slightly smaller than an original, and they all have the same lucky number on the teams page. So save your money!

A friend of mine sold his autographed program a couple of years back. I think he got about £100+. I have my match ticket still which I posted a copy some time ago.

If there were as many programmes as people in Hartlepool who allegedly attended that match there’d be a pile of programmes the size of the Pyramids…… I was there and wasn’t even conceived, which is why I wasn’t really there. sadx

The programme I mentioned was from a programme seller whose father was a supporters club founder and who took him into the dressing room and got all the Man. Untd players to autograph a programme. Whilst I agree that you would think there was 50000 in the ground listening to people who said they were there I still have my ticket. Still remember getting soaking wet because I couldn’t get my usual place under the stand.

Just out of interest the first game I remember was Pools v Norwich in the FA Cup 1949. I was obviously going before that but at my age memories go.

Well the seller in question seemed legit, no real hugely negative feedback and I imagine with a username like Fulham1955 he isn't local and has no legitimate copy to go off on.

I remember a few years ago loads of fakes of old Scottish and amateur cup finals on ebay, usually coming from places like Russia and Ukraine. Can only think some people might have unintentionally bought them and they've somehow got onto the market again.

Didn't they republish the Manure programme inside the matchday programmes during one of our infamous cup runs in the 70s?

They done it when we played Luton in the FA Cup during the John Mart era. 1988?

know i had that programme as my old man went but would not take me because of the obvious big crowd. mine went when i first got married back in the early 70,s with the whole lot to a dealer in essex. there were many early post war ones also and not just pools as an uncle living in london passed em on to me. all the late 20,s and 30,s stuff were all lost thanks to a WW2 air raid on brenda road.
