Never really been a fan of Killip.
But without him today we would have conceded 8.
We really were that bad, Cannot really see PH turning this around.
Players at each other’s throats all over the pitch.

If things are left as they are we will find ourselves playing
A 30 game season trying to avoid the drop, which maybe a step to far.

Killip is not the problem at all he’s not perfect but the two he had in front of him today were brutally bad, weak slow and don’t read the game well, a trifecta of shite

Never understood why he gets so much abuse

So far this season he's faced 51 shots on target

That'll shatter the confidence of any keeper facing that number of shots

We've conceded 17 goals

I don't blame the defence either

For me, this is squarely on the manager.

His starting 11, his tactics, his training methods.

I think that's an opinion, not a fact.

Sterry can be decent.

Featherstone has probably reached the end of his career. Not his fault, we all get old.

Never really rated Ferguson. But understand he can have his days.

Every defender who isn't a wingback needs scrapping.

Shelton and Crawford don't feel like EFL players.

Only new good signing imo is Hastie. Conflicted on Umerah.

So yes, while what I said is an opinion, its difficult to look at the team now and see one player who is worth retaining.

But you have just made a list that includes three players worth retaining. Sterry is a superb player at this level though he has had injury set backs and it is hard to be outstanding when everything is falling apart around you. Like almost everyone else, he is not at his best at the moment. Ferguson has always been known as a great attacking wing back but with defensive limitations, obviously these are more evident when the other defenders are weak. Umerah is working his socks off but does not have an effective strike partner and there is little creativity in the team. Umerah's form will decline as the rest of the team crumble. Hastie has been the subject of much criticism but like everyone else, it is hard to be at your best when the team is crumbling all around you. Crawford blows hot and cold but can be good on his day, but again, it is hard to be outstanding when all around you is dross. I agree about age catching up on Featherstone and that Shelton is probably not quite good enough for the FL. The defender on loan from Walsall looks to be decent so God knows why he was not selected yesterday. Mc Donald scored yesterday but maybe needs to be more consistent but this is hard with what is going on around him. So to Killip, makes good saves but is always likely to drop game changing clangers like he did at Northampton.

so really whats being said is there are no personalities within the club to get things sorted out and kick ass a bit. there has been bad teams in the past who have done better than expectations but had some characters around that made em hard to beat. how often have we said how are that load of scrap beating us. well that could be the answer.

Remember Wimbledon beating Liverpool in the FA cup final. Wimbledon, a team of limited ability but massive team spirit. Although having talented players is undoubtedly helpful, team spirit is crucial. Pools dont have much talent but worse, there is an absence of team spirit.

wasn,t that team spirit thing something hartley promised us. how many expected pools to be one of those in your faces type sides that always do a job on us. instead its seems the same old story with new faces for old.

I agree, that is one of the most disappointing things about the situation. We may not have expected promotion contenders but surely it is not too much to ask for a bit of Scottish grit and bloody mindedness.

If he is it just shows how bad our defence is, I would rather a striker to be the player of the season.

Some of the greatest teams of all time have enjoyed having goalkeepers who were player of the season or close to that accolade - Ray Clemence for example. Remember Peter Schmeichel? Gordon Banks?

So, I think that you can have a good team and the keeper is Player of the Season - but I agree with you in that I would prefer to see a forward as a player of the season - like the era of Baker, Allon, Dalton, Honour..................

If the coaches can work on his weaknesses BK1 could be a very good keeper.
