He was registered with the kennel club from birth by the breeder, and was called …wait for it….’ Anistopholes the Lancer’…try shouting that across the Rec.
Our lass said if he could speak, he’d have nowt to do with us.
That said, I nearly missed a home game when he dived at the bay window to get at the postman, he went through the window unscathed, me expecting blood everywhere and it was just a bloke passing. I had to go to the glaziers, get a piece of glass cut, go back prepare it and fit it, but made the match…try getting rid of the smell of putty on your hands though.

I think we can finally agree on something.

Thankfully no, but he was a bit protective to the two lads who were two and four at the time, we never kept a window cleaner, all lost in action.
I was on a course with Brown Boveri at Luton and I got a phone call from the wife asking me to ‘speak to the dog’ as he wouldn’t let her out of the house, I just said ‘get out now’ in a firm voice and he scattered apparently…. I pout the phone down, looked round and felt like a right prick as they all looked at me.

you certainly seem to be like me by having a problem dog, or as i prefer to say ones with character. i,ve had em all, the worlds worst german shepherd, a rottweiler whose onlt interest in life was chasing and killing cats and now a husky/malamute cross who hates men. the other one we have ia a rottweiler/doberman cross who is perfect, loves everything but the most boring dog i,ve ever owned.

We started off with collies, the bog standard sort but they are just so obedient, no vices, it was like taking the Pope for a walk on a lead.
Ratboy is the sort of terrier who if he was human would install his car radio with a chainsaw….Snowy looked like and was Animal the drummer off the muppets…characters!

funny how the problem characters are never forgotton and are always talked about. feel a bit sorry for the couple that rarely get a mention because they were a pleasure to take out and never gave us or anyone else any grief. its same with one of my mates who always had bull terriers where the bad bugger has never been forgotton.

I liked the quiet ones just as much as the characters, the thing is the characters provide the memories
l’ll freely admit that every dog who I finally had to put down brought a tear to my eye, I don’t even do that for people, but people never have that sense of trust in you and loyalty.
Sounds daft to people who don’t bother with pets, but you know what I mean, no need to explain.

yes my lads just the same. he is even worse as if he knows any animal gets killed in a film he refuses to watch it if he knows or goes out of the room if it looks likely to happen. however he,d think up a sick joke if a human gets done in.

A couple of years back a programme about RSPCA officers was on and this bloke had went to this house and found this Labrador cross locked in an open cage outside literally covered in shit. It was rescued and he took an interest in it and visited it every day but after a week it was decided it would have to be put down as it was beyond help. He asked if he could be there when it happened to comfort the placid dog as had quickly bonded with him and the vet welcomed the idea. The dog quietly passed away while he comforted it, not a dry eye in the house or in the vets either.

I see your anxiety levels are rising again.
My time on this board is my business, why it should concern you is a bit odd.
But fear not shipmate….I’m going nowhere, so adapt.
