the interesting part will be how the lads stand up to their physical assault which they always have. going for a narrow 1 nil defeat.

Agree with KPG bear in mind we all follow Pools lets keep it civil. Remember some snippet's of information coming out are not always bullshit and have come from someone in the know who can not be named. It is always up to the reader if they believe it or not but DO NOT shoot the messengerr or be rude to them or members of staff at the club.

I was having a cup of tea in the Yorkshire Lassie on York Road when the waitress said she had a bad feeling about Saturday.
Pools 3 nil loss and the reel of film snaps half way through the Saturday morning showing at the Odeon.

Would obviously like a win but a much improved performance will do me. Just want to see some of the positives from pre season return on Saturday to appease the fans who think we’re a sinking ship.
1-0 Pools

Unless of course you happen to walk through the lounge door into the Grange, then it would be two quick halves.
Very discerning clientele visited that place in those days.

Shoot the messenger? ( cue evil laughter)…. Nah, hanging, drawing and quartering are in vogue for next season…… with public branding for minor misdemeanours.
In cases of mistaken identity, a grudging apology (of sorts) will be delivered at the memorial service.

a new era.. new manager ...and new team....but nevertheless worth remembering what the previous lot dished up last season in terms of home form...

I never understand the mindset of…..’We’re shit, utter shit, but if we do succeed I’ll be happy’.
I suspect it’s a sign of someone who is so confused they opt for every option because basically they’re clueless.

Pools v Wimbledon a few years back, superb second goal from Luke James, I was at the game, Walton played a high ball into the box. My immediate thought was a long hopeful punt but it was amazing how James got in front of their defender.

its always a case of constrasting emotions with a lot. the start of the season is always much worse. if pools had won last saturday and win tomorrow it would be unrealistic talk of promotion with hartley being the best thing in over 100 years. lose tomorrow and the complete opposite will happen. a quick reminder to us all that the bookies have got pools right this season.

that must be the worst record of any club in the league. got a shock myself when trying to pass the time during that colchester game and found that fact out.

That Fail fact from Joe Ramage is a powerful argument for Pools playing their home games in midweek. Between December and February we beat Rochdale, Barrow and Tranmere under the lights at the Vic.

The wheels really came off the season after Rotherham beat us on pens in the JPT semi-final, as we all remember only too well.

that game apart from the defeat should have spurred the side on if a positive was made out of it. holding the top team in the league above and eventual champions to a draw after normal time and after extra time. seemed the complete opposite occured.

Drop Tumilty and Murray - we win the game at home to get the confidence levels back up.

if not i can see it being a bore draw with them looking the more threatening.

I don't usually get involved with predictions but just this once I'll go for a 2-0 win with JOSH COBURN notching twice.

I suspect Lee and Nelson lost the instruction book on how to run a team….in fact I think they didn’t have one …….apart from an old Roy of the Rovers comic that is.

What I don’t want to see tomorrow if Pools get beat hopefully not is a chorus of boos and go back to Scotland and take your players with you chants.
Lee never had a win in 12 league games, I don’t recall many boos and and go back to the Boro chants.

I won,t be there, But if you go to the game early please watch the warm up.
PH and G and the keeper coach will be doing it.
Will be really interesting to see the way they go about it.

Its more important than people think.

If you want to buy a ticket take some ID preferably with your photo on it.
Saw a bloke who has been going to pools for a long time turned away with no ID to hand.

Think its shocking myself, But as Raj himself said "Value for money"

Depends on age:

Young= So what
Old = Twats

Trouble for pools is older ones have been through it all, regarding pools and would continue to do so.

Young ones will find something else to do.

You’re being asked to supply ID, you learn after your first attempt if refused. If that puts you off you, were never gonna last the course anyway.

Apologies i was not clear in that this guy was buying a full adult ticket (i think)and even to get that he needed ID.
It may be just to ensure that the Wimbledon Ultras dont get in with the home supporters but i think hes been going to Pools for about 50 years.

If it was me running the club and giving the usual financial guarantees I too would be a bit miffed if wholesale fiddling was going on. It is the people who are fiddling who are to blame, not the people trying to stop it.
What sort of supporter would want to fiddle the club and is that person worthy of the title supporter.
The Irony is those of us who treat the club with honesty and respect really aren't the ones complaining, it's the cheats who shout the loudest because it is they who are losing out on their little scams.
It is our football club we are talking about here and we should all condemn anyone who could hurt our club by cheating it.

..no ID needed to buy adult ticket...only concessions..but you do need to be registered on the database..

The only way to fiddling is have a cashless system but at the same time the club would need to get their finger out if past experience of ticket sales a lot of improvement is required.

5,501 (250 wombles)

Judging by the available seat tickets online, it looks like being a pretty decent crowd.

Funny that about the Wombles, the hairy kind, my two lads wouldn’t eat those Findus mince Triangle things because they thought they were Wombles (free range I assume )

My first ever game watching Pools was against Wimbledon. September 10th 1977, it was their first season of being in the league, we won 2-0.

So I will go for the same 2-0 score tomorrow, goals from McMordie & Poskett.

I have only ever seen Pools versus Wimbledon at Plough Lane. I saw three fixtures from 1977 onwards. Lost 3-0, lost 3-1, lost 5-0. cant find any record of the 5-0 on The Mad Crowd but I was there. Richardson was in goal and ever time they had a shot it seemed to go in. Happy days.

Hope for a win 2..1 UTP

On a different note, Pools have a lot of new faces, at the Vic because players left for whatever reasons.

So we have had to rebuild a team, hopefully it will all come together soon, booing and calling the Team crap will destroy our club, I have never known so much negativity, and negative comments in all my years supporting our club, yes our club, owners come and go, Managers come and go and players...however we the supporters are always there ,thick and thin.
So support our team. UTP....Poole till I die..United,United.

easy to forget that afc wimbledon did not exist until 2002 and was formed by a supporters association after the chairman of the old wimbledon fc club decided to relocate it 60 miles away and rename it mk dons...an absolutely incredible success story really with all the promotions they have had from bottom ninth tier of the league pyramid to playing in league one..just shows what can be done..

Exactly, pure defeatism with some people, who should look up the meaning of the word ‘supporter’.
If they were at Dunkirk they’d have bigged the German’s up because they spent more money than us and say “look at the crap we’ve got, cheap and hopeless, we’ve got a rubbish leader and we’re gonna lose the war, because that there Hitler knows what he’s doing and bound to win the lot!”

It’s down to people with the financial acumen of a cod telling people who are running a business successfully, how to run it.
Then when they’ve finished with that, they suddenly acquire an encyclopaedic knowledge of how to manage a football team, particularly the buying policy and an uncanny ability to make it sound so simple….so simple in fact it could be described as naive.
It just comes across as bitter and angry, like a frustrated toddler who can’t open a packet of (not so) ‘Smarties’.
