Funny as you get older you remember songs from yesteryear, The wheels on the Err what is it. bollocks its gone.

I’ll send Nurse Tangleweed round to give you her notorious manipulative therapy to help your memory problems.
She’ll need to know the maximum load your fuse board can sustain for an hour when she wires you up and starts connecting her electrodes to your ‘bits’. :uhoh:

‘The wheels on the Electricity Generating Board lorry etc, etc,…….

This has been an ongoing thing and I’ve realised it was coming, like everything else in life, you accept it and move on or you sit feeling sorry for yourself, I’ve no time for a pity party so I adapt.
One thing I will miss, walking past the pitch when it’s wet …..with its heady aroma of wet grass and mud, that’s the smell of football.

I don't go much nowadays for health reasons & it won't be long before I wont be able to go at all. You find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon, but at the back of your mind you're always thinking how are the lads getting on, if we win today we can move into the top half. You read the match reports from fans who were there as they are better than the reports in the mail. You will soon adapt & get used to it.

Best of luck to you in the future Snowy.

You keep going as long as you can, because it’s something you think will actually never end. It does, but always at an inconvenient time. Weird really, you never stop being what you are, a poolie, Pools is like the other ‘woman’ in your life who can be a little demanding at times, a little frustrating at times but gives you some deep joy at times, not very often admittedly, but more enjoyable for the wait.
Any fool/oaf can ‘support’ a big team, but it takes real character to be a poolie, there’s not a lot of glory, but good companionship with real fans, the super club drones couldn’t begin to comprehend because they’re as shallow as a car park puddle.
You’re a Poolie.

I sit on Ken Johnson’s memorial bench near the beacon at Seaton every morning at daft O’clock when I’ve got Ratboy out.
