I have no problem with the women's game in itself, it is the BBC's obsessive social engineering agenda I cant stand at any price. I just hope the England Women dont win it because we will never hear the bloody last of it. A key argument will be the women are better than the men because the women won the Euros and the men couldn't. Of course the quality of the opposition faced will not be mentioned and anyone daring to bring it up will branded an "ist" of some type. Some of us will have noticed the attempt to claim parity between Rooney and Helen White because she has scored the same number of goals as him. Again the quality of the opposition is not allowed to be part of the debate.

Granted but would you subscribe to the idea that the calibre of opposition England Women play against routinely is of the same standard as that faced by England's men? As you know, the Women beat Norway 8-0 and Northern Ireland 5-0 in this tournament. Would there have been similar score lines if England's men had played the men's teams from the same opposition?

As I said earlier, I have no problem with the women's game but it is different from the men's game and politically motivated attempts to draw comparison between the two are beneath contempt.

Yes i would agree they are totally different things and it is being pushed far too much but yesterday entertained me.

I usually have the radio on if I’m working in my ‘bunker’ and usually swing between several talk stations depending on what’s being discussed, but even Talksport has been filling itself at the table of women’s football and which ever channel you’re on it pops up.Seems like the big sell to me.

To be fair Rooney got most of his goals against inferior opposition (in qualifiers). Hurst, Shearer, Lineker had much greater impact at tournaments.

Who cares how the media report on things, they all have there own agenda (right or left bias), I for one hope they win it. Can only be a good thing inspiring more sports participation irrelevant of gender.

Strange. I want the women to win it and frequently want the men's team to lose because of the exaggerated bs claims around the men's team and the hysterics of the media.

I must admit I cannot stand Southgate and his woke posturing so I agree, it is always a bonus when his team loses. After the World Cup semi loss there has been a transformation in Southgate and the team in terms of their relationship with the fans. It stinks to high heaven.

Our daughter phoned us today to tell us she had managed to get three tickets for England's semi final at Bramall Lane next Tuesday, so off we go. The last time I actually attended a Ladies match live was in the fifties at the annual Prices v Cerebos game at Grayfields.
It's a sell out, so there will be some atmosphere. We're thinking of wearing Pools shirts but blue and white stripes isn't a popular colour in that part of Sheffield.

Should be a lot of fun. Do your best to add some bass notes to the high pitched cheering

You can imagine the female equivalent of football hooligans clashing and standing off bitching about each other’s dress sense, oooooh it could get catty.

think it would be better to avoid the media especially the BBC when either england team are playing. think its all the pre match or pre tournament clap trap that puts me and many others off. then if someone dares beat em we always have to go through a bigger inquest than the granville tower disaster to find the reason why. can rake rge womens game in small doses but can say the same for many of the mens sports as well. might have been more interested if they had not made such a big thing about it in the first place. all this hype on anything just does not work with me.
