There’s many reasons players move like this. Could be the player feels unwanted or under utilised….time will tell. Trust the manager.

Bit concerning Walsall have signed a 41 year old centre back and are happy Menayese to see him go to another L2 club. Hopefully turns out good

If you think very similar to when we loaned Richie Bennet we learned our lesson and got him for the season so no call back. As far as the 41 year old CB he is a freak as far as fitness is concerned and was I believe Tranmere's player of the year. He was the league two version of Ryan Giggs and Gordon Strachan who both played at top level till their late thirties.

A bit strange when he only signed permanently for Walsall in January, on a contract until 2024, & played 33 games last season for them

Change of manager at Walsall is the explanation. The bloke who signed him got the boot in February and the one who took over isn't a fan:

Happens all the time in football.

Went through their message boards and found opinions fairly benign towards him, they said he played fairly well till they signed him on a full time contract and his form suddenly dipped, don’t know if it was football related, but some thought the club was wrong to let him go.
Funny how other clubs fans are unhappy with the number of players needed.

I texted a mate who is a Bristol Rovers fan. He said, “Yes a very good centre half. For some reason Barton didn't rate him and I think he went to mansfield for a big fee. He played about 15_20 times in div one season, didn't put a foot wrong.”

It was a couple of years ago when he was at Bristol Rovers and has maybe gone backwards a bit since then but we could be the right fit for him. He’s a big lad, 6 foot 3 so is hopefully that elusive goal threat on corners too.

According to some Walsall fans, Flynn Does not like him.

We will find out for ourselves soon enough, Its up to both clubs if he plays in the season opener.

Walsall sign 40 year old Peter Clarke, whose contract with Tranmere had expired, on a 1-year contract. Neill Byrne joins Tranmere on a 1-year deal, for an undisclosed fee. Pools get Menayese on a season-long loan from Walsall

Nice bit of business for Pools ?

Walsall fan here in peace.
Rollin Mayonaise (we used to call him that too!) played really well for us until he signed a new contract and then some uncharacteristic errors shot his confidence. I think a change of team could do him good.
Strong in the air and in the tackle. Should do well for you.
Obviously he won't be allowed to play against us for the first game of the season.
As an aside we used to have a regular pools fan on our website a few years ago used to go by the name of Poolie Kev. A good guy who was always up for a good chat. I wonder if he's still around?
