Things are looking dodgy

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

I hate to say this as Snowy and Poolie 1 will be all over it. Apparently a 'source' close to the club is suggesting we have signed one good player, Cook. Also apparently the new Manager is clueless and yes I know this is controversial , we all want success and I'll be there with my season ticket again. Let's hope the source is wrong and I do know who it is

yawn2 ‘Apparently a source close to the club’…so it’s not your ‘source’ then, is it a general ‘source’ or a secret ‘source’ or a casual ‘source’ or brown sauce,

No doubt every club is prone to this kind of gossipy mischief making. If you claim not to believe it why bother repeating it? How about leaving the rest of us to make up our own minds about the new players and the new manager after we've seen Pools in action in competitive games in League 2? We've only got a fortnight to wait.

Mr 27, heard a similar story but couldn't be bothered posting it on The Two Bullies Forum - they talk about free speech but abuse anyone with a contrary view/ perspective/ knowledge. So, like you, I gave up and now only visit rarely. Wonder if either were at the match today - actually, no I don't.

Ok put your money where your mouth is, give me just one example where I ‘abused’ anyone. Challenging someone’s views does not constitute abuse by the way.

How about you and your pal Poolie1 make your own ‘we’re imbeciles’ forum?

That’s the fourth poster who has said you aggressively respond to people who have a view contrary to others. It’s not a discussion with you and Poolie1 , it’s an immediate argument. Unsure if you have the emotional intelligence to interpret your responses to understand that… probably not!

A little knot of self proclaimed martyrs, unable to win the debate logically, realise the only option left is to declare themselves victims of abuse and bullying because their ready use ammo locker is as empty as their tales.
‘Tales of the Unexpected’ regularly appear with tittle tattle of this and that from mates and ‘sources’ close to the club, but I can’t think of one fairy tale that ever came true, because if they had they’d be on here beating their chests like Tarzan on steroids……. But nothing happens, just whispers and tumbleweeds.
That said, there must be a certain warped masochism rampant to want to constantly want to undermine the club’s actions at every, that’s every grubby little opportunity, in the name of being a ‘concerned supporter’ or ……. footy Fishwife.
Cheer up little knot members, your dreams may come true one day and we’ll all be looking forward to the big derby game against Marske, so you can collectively say we told you so..

Because four sensitive souls don’t like having having their obscure fairy tale getting the piss taken out of it does not constitute an aggressive response. The problem is simply when challenged they lack the ability to give a counter argument and have a wobbly. I suspect they’re people who’ve never been challenged over anything and are affronted at the nerve of it.

One of those university types that occasionally come on here should actually do a survey of football fans thinking. Can football actually be a danger to peoples health. Can never understand why a fan can constantly knock their club yet roll up for every game. There are another lot who take in everything the club has to offer them, expect promotion every single season and when realism comes to them that it aint going to happen then its a league or referees conspiracy to keep us down. once away from football grounds and get em eventually talking about something else they are quite clued up and normal lads. know one of the gloom and doom merchants who support another club. top lad who was a financial director of a leeds firm before retiring, but go to a game with him and listen to his rants you,d think he had escaped from some mental institution.

Just once in my life I’d have liked to hear Queens over used ‘We are the Champions’ playing at the end of the season, it never happened but I travel in hope. I’m not greedy, just the one would do to break the duck.
Most of my time time supporting Pools has been an act of faith in my local team doing the business ……. which never hardly happened, but never disappointed.
IOR raised expectations and it’s been tangleweed ever since, but I’m just happy we have a league club again, after all this time, glory can wait for now.
