Things are looking dodgy

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

think the average pools fan got more out of our promotion, last years fa cup run and reaching the papa johns semi than fans of other clubs that expect success right from the first game. at least i can always say that one of my happiest days in football was travelling in hope to stockport and leaving the place having to put on a false scoul till i got back in the car for a loud fist pump.

if pools had a big well known name as manager or they were owned by equally well known internationals they,d be one of the favourites as well. just wonder if any bookie could name a pools player or one from crawley or crewe for that matter.

What he is saying is that every other team seems to come out and have done enough business early doors so that IF they wanted to they are now in a position where they COULD release a photo with their full squad for the new season whereas we can't. At no point has anybody demanded a squad photo in June or suggested that other teams are whacking them out left right and centre.

Whether you agree with him or not it's a fairly simple concept that only you have taken issue with and then yet again set about anybody with a differing opinions of you

Think you’re being a bit pedantic Trent on the point here.
No one is really bothered about a photo of the ‘squad’. The point in question is Bigdog is saying the squad is small, we’ll of course it is, the new manager doesn’t walk through the door with a shopping trolley full of players from ‘Squadfix’ ready to go.
It’s about expectations.
Could, should, would is irrelevant in this instance.

I’m not giving an opinion just a fact. No teams. put out team photos till near the start of the season. The fact is we still have time to bring the squad up in numbers. Remember the manager has only been here just over a week what do you expect. Time to worry in three weeks time.
By the way I thought the idea of these boards was for people to give there opinions yes I differ from some and agree with others what I don’t like is the continual doom mongers who never have anything positive to say and just look for faults in thr club.

There’ll be a meeting of the Fellowship’s ‘Brains Trust’ where a number of demented scenarios will be discussed then circulated.

Scenario 1. The mysterious Scarlet Pimpernel like contact who apparently has access to the clubs finances, and thought process knows every move even before the club’s thought them up  ….but who sadly can’t actually tell you what’s going to happen when it happens, because there’s no way you’ll know if it did happen cos they have to hide their source.
Scenario 2. Er, that’s it.

I appreciate there is still time to bring players in but at the present time, on paper at least, we do not look very good. ( good job we don’t play on paper) I still have faith and have been impressed with the new management team but I am becoming a bit concerned. The next incomings will tell where we are going.

It does seem a bit "slow" in getting players in and they need to gell.
I am bracing myself for a "slow" start to the season.

I was convinced our sponsors was "Suits Direct" not "Suit Direct" and that a massive bollock has been dropped.
I was much relieved to find i was mistaken.

well for me we need to see a few decent faces in the club in the next 7 days. after this right up to the end of the signings period we,ll either get someone PH has been after for weeks or more likely another fondop and a handful of no hope kids from rotherhams youth team who are computer generated.

3 decent wingers! We haven't had one for a long time so that should be fun.

The team isn't great - Defensively though we look a middle table at worst team, 2 reasonable goalies for this level at least. The next team of Full Backs in the league probably - 5 now? Centre Halves maybe could do with another of this quality or 2. Midfield perhaps not the best but prbably better than a few teams. So what we are lacking, like many is a strikeforce, unfortunately the main part of survival are goal scoring.

But then we don't know the finances? Are the season tickets well down on last season? The Cost Of Living Crisis affects not only the attendance levels, but the running costs have to be so much higher.

A season of survival would be good, maybe the loans will be the saviours? There are still debts to clear from the pre Raj era and perhaps he just doesn't have the funds to throw away like some clubs.
