As an older person unwilling to use Social Media I feel a bit out of touch with using the club website.

As of now there still appear to be no information on dates for Pre Season Friendlies in the fixture dates.
I trawl back through the news to see we played Billingham Synthonia on Saturday, small fry but the first mention of it is a 6-0 win in a preview of a game against Marske.

So the game against Marske, 2 hours ago says kicks off 7.30pm. So there is no mention of a date anywhere so I assume this game is tonight? However trawling back through the news to see when any of these fixtures actually are, I find a news item telling me it is being played on the 12th July. Again small fry but an article today saying 7.30pm kick off suggests today.

Fair enough for a one off but there is information on buying a ticket for the friendly against Sunderland, great I can buy a ticket from 5th July but again you have to trawl through past news items to find when it is being played.

The website of a Football League club should have reports and fixture dates, as well as articles that are wrong in the way they are written to indicate a game is today when it probably isn't. This is shoddy stuff, I don't want to have to succumb to Facebook or Twitter to see if the information is there.

Time to get this sorted.

Agree entirely i really dont understand this exodus to Twatter or Arsebook.
Is there any financial incentive to the club from these platforms.

In my opinion you are just moaning for the sake of it. The information provided by the club could always be improved I’m sure but it’s relative to the staff we have etc.

You can visit the social media pages for the club without creating an account and again it’s your choice to not do so. It’s no different to someone complaining they can’t view the scores on teletext anymore.

If you want to complain about anything it’s the lack of a formal match report which hasn’t been done or published anywhere but it was only a friendly against Synthonia.

No, but there's a financial incentive to use the OS which the club don't tap into!

It’s not like having their own site though as it’s done through the EFL now. I may be wrong but I’m sure I read that Ifollow distributes revenue differently.

The OS has adds that'll generate more money if the site gains visitors, or "clicks". The site can also link to the clubs online shop.

Didn't say it was a subscription service. It's a website that will generate money based on traffic. Granted the EFL will take a portion but most of it does go back to the club.

This was why the website layout changed when we were relegated from the EFL and changed again when we were promoted back, as the old site wouldn't have made the same money in the NL.

..look...the website is owned by efl..'...advertisers pay efl for advertising.."clicks" on the site mean nothing for pools..its not our site... and that's not how revenue for us is generated..its not a bloody you tube site you or i could set up based on "clicks".. in terms of income for us this comes through sales of ifollow streaming services though the o/s site and we get a cut of advertising revenue based on our league status...the idea we get paid for "traffic" on the site owned by another party is just plain wrong and daft tbh...

As long as the football’s good, the majority of supporters couldn’t give a flying fuck about social media or club websites.

remember the not so long ago old days when there was no tippy tappy stuff and we found out bits from newspapers about pools. not sure what is the best, this loads of posts to read to keep right up to date or turning up at a game and asking who that number 8 was and being told didn,t you read yesterdays paper, he is a new signing.

Trouble nowadays is social media is like a giant tumble drier with a full load and 99% of it utter tosh….. the 1% truth flashes past the window briefly.

Pointless arguing as you know everything....but started with Barrow as similar level, go to matches, fixtures and there are all the dates. Very easy and not likely to lead to a wasted trip to Marske with yesterday's post.

We are getting 5,000 crowds and I am sure if I checked every club they will have the vital information displayed. The dates if the games are the most important thing they tell us and we are getting it wrong.

two examples, and it's all up to date.

According to our website, we have no friendlies and Gary Liddle and Odusina are still with the club - some good news at last!

I think poolie1 is correct, it looks like the fixtures pages are pulling the data from the EFL database (so no control from the club). So only way club can publish this info is via its news section, which they have done.

think its a case of those not signed up efl digital are more informative even those ameteur looking non league ones. question, do you look at the pools site more or les than you used to do. know i only look at it now to go onto ifollow to watch a mid week match via it.

Luckily my friend Ed has a wireless telephone and keeps me up to date with the Dockers.

Under 14s now cant gain entry to the Vic unless they are accompanied by an adult.
Ludicrous decision which will lower the crowds.

Loyalty Points.
Database only entry.
We in Division Four not a Championship club going for promotion to the Premier league.

Why…..?

There were a lot of complaints from people in the Millhouse Stand last season about the behaviour of youngsters causing trouble. It now looks like the club are accepting that the stewards that they employ are not good enough for the job. Instead of sorting out the problem that a few cause, they have decided to blanket ban all under 14's unless accompanied by an adult. The question is, are the stewards who can't control a small amount of kids capable of policing this, as there is no way the turnstile operators will.

Like many others I started going as an 11 year old with my mates from school. Not sure I would be going today if the habit hadn't been formed at such a young age.

I think that this is a decision that might backfire on the club, but that will probably not be realised for a few years when they wonder why the crowds are dropping. Old people who die are usually replaced by the new start young ones. That may not happen in the years to come.

I never forced my kids to go to Pools with me, what’s the point….. but eventually they all ended up going, but getting them started at an early age gets them into the spirit and feeling of belonging to the club.
I agree that some kids roll up and do what they want, we moved over to the Cyril Knowles from the Mill House because the useless stewards let anyone walk in and take a seat. Most kids though are OK and it seems so self defeating.

kids start off going with their parents, usually their dad. once reaching big school around 11 or 12 its their mates they want to go with. it will get like the old days at the pictures with kids asking if they can go in with you because the place is fussy about em watching the wrong certificate film without an adult. the other thing will that they,ll stop going, get out of the habit and will be the last we see of em unless there is a big game on. do not know but i doubt its the under 14 that are a trouble, more like the 14 to 18 year old group.
