There was a late night accident from Alex Chandy... He retweeted Jeff Stelling saying 'Oli Shaw would be a great signing and should be announced' on the Official account. Looks like the big signing rumours could be correct!

So it was a non existent ‘stingy offer’ that wasn’t an offer because it never happened in the first place…..? sctatchinghead

Do you reckon the theme from the Magic Roundabout is playing in the background when these scenarios are ‘created’….Waldorf?

What you going to do if I tell you the name of the lad? You don't even know him and never will. If I was going to make shit up I would certainly choose a far more Earth shattering revelation to invent. What a plonker.

The beliefs involved are massively different (I've no doubt Snowy is a decent sort) but the bahaviour of disrupting debate contrary to a belief is quite quite similar.

What kills a skunk is the ‘publicity’ it gives itself ………and ironically it never realises it.

Ha! Knew you'd come back with that mock wounded shite. I was talking about you in more general terms as a political bully, a description which fits you perfectly.

I suspect most normal people would be offended by being called a ‘ brown shirt’
Now you become the outraged 14 year old in a paddy because your clumsy attempt at becoming a friend of Raj has been rumbled. You never really thought you’d get away with that one did you ? :liar:

Perhaps I don't care. I'm glad you're not offended, I was worried your mind was too blunt an instrument to separate belief from behaviour but I'm impressed.

Nothing, zilch……. Why? ……Anyone can come on here with a rumour where they say we’re after a certain player and usually it’s bull and it’s forgotten about, end of story.
We know the player involved and the person who came up with the rumour. End of.

You and a small knot come up with constant references to finances which you can have no possible way of knowing about and yet never substantiate anything which is why I have no interest in your phantom figure, no use to me whatsoever because these things never happen.
The constant ‘WE demand’ mantra is to what purpose? Every other team in our division will be in the same boat apart from the lapdog clubs. So you can ‘ask’, you can ‘plead’ but give the we demand bit a rest because it just isn’t like that in the ‘grown up’s world’ where people know nothings ever straight forward.

The ‘Brown Shirts’ aka the ‘SA’ …. Hitlers thugs lead by Ernst Rohm were involved in everything from murder down.
So relevant to a football message board.

You know what Snowy, dismissing view points that differ from yours is obviously a big thing in your life so you can have it. I personally feel strongly that discussions between differing parties should always be from a point of mutual respect but hey that's just me. So I declare you the winner and bid you to bask in that fulfillment and content.

While I’m almost 100% certain he’s wrong, if the rumours are true PH will not be going around saying yes we’ve signed him or we’re trying to etc. If we have broken our transfer record it’s going to be a big reveal and not something we’ll see until the new shirt is announced I imagine.

This is true ...nm 3 out of 4 aint bad for a mystic meg  :ugeek: - was kind of hoping he was incoming as i reckon he would of done a job at our level. I think we can all give credit to Scotlands top tier footballing level after the hiding Hibs gave us - they also then ran out 4-2 winners to a Burton Albion Side. My thinkings also, of Scottish Championship being about our level arnt so true anymore either - so Shaw in my eyes would of been classed as a big singing for us.. anyone agree ?

It’s not about winning, and I never dismiss anyones viewpoint without thinking it through, but to assume someone who disagrees with you on one point is ‘out to get get you’ is a bit on the extreme side.

I’ve suggested that if the rumours were true no manager would be admitting to them, as a record signing would be a big deal for any club to announce.

The most shocking thing in this thread is that no one picked up on the statement that Alex Chandy had a "late night accident". I waited in vain for the puerile comments around 'that's what happens after 10 pints and a dodgy kebab'. The bunker is not what it was etc etc.

Poolie1: you’re again putting words in my mouth. I’ve never said he’s bullshitting, I seriously doubt Pools will pay 6 figures for any player (which is sensible) therefore I think the rumour is false. The part of me that hopes it’s true is because he would be a good signing.
I’m merely commenting on the fact that any manager would deny a link to a named player due to the selling team and the fact the club would want to announce a record signing with a big reveal. Hence trying to keep it under wraps.

GingerGinola: I’ve been waiting for that all day…

I gather Jordan Cook recommended him. Apparently they are great mates because they both go to the same physio. Been mates off and on for a decade or so. By the way, having a club foot is no barrier to a career in professional football. Diversity, right? A lot of big clubs are looking for club footed players because they want to be seen to doing the right thing. You'd be surprised by the number of club footed players in the professional game who just haven't "come out" as yet.

Whoa Ozzy, this ‘club foot’ is serious, milk chocolate coated minty one means he can’t play when the sun shines as he sheds chocolate and when it freezes his club foot can shatter and there’s chocolate and biscuit crumb’s everywhere and requires him being rushed to Jacobs Club Hospital.

Good Morning everyone hope you are enjoying a good summer.
Rumours here are that you may be taking one of our youngsters, Scott Banks, on loan.
Scott signed for Palace when he was 17/18 from Dundee Utd, where he was highly thought of. He has played for Scotland U19 and U23. He captained our academy team, he has been loaned out to Scottish clubs a couple of times, I suspect, partly, due to being young and away from his family during the pandemic. Whilst on loan he won goal of the season for his club ( sorry can’t remember which one).
He plays midfield and is one of the best free kick takers I have seen, scored a cracker for us at Reading in pre-season last year.
Roy Hodgson saw him as potentially a future captain, unfortunately he does tend to pick up injuries.
Overall he would be a cracking loan for you. Good luck for the season and if this happens I will be following his progress

It was sounding great till you mentioned that. We are injury phobic on here due to Pools unfortunate recent history with players who never seem able to get off the treatment table at all.

Saw the report on Football League World, hope it comes off. How's the Palace transfer window going Mr. SE25?

Sounds a perfect fit to me. we need a new sicknote at the club because many would not survive with a fully fit squad to support.

Would rather have an injury prone youngster than a injury prone pro looking for a final pay day.

Our injury record has improved greatly since PV arrived and completely changed the back room staff.
The transfer window is a bit strange, we secured Sam Johnstone from WBA and Ebiowbe(?) from Derby on free transfers. We have (apparently) secured the signing of Cheik Dacorue from Lens for about £18m, this has been held up by work permit delay. We are very excited about him, very highly regarded defensive midfielder who was previously linked with Spurs.
Flynn Downes was at training ground ready for medical, when his agent took him to sign for West Ham!! His agent is the daughter of Mark Warburton, West Ham’s assistant manager, so they would have known Palaces offer, not the first time WH have done this to us.
Hopefully a couple more incomings and some outgoings.
With regard to Banks, have done a bit of research, it was one bad injury which he seems to have recovered from, he really is a very exciting prospect. If Dougie Freedman rates him, he is good
