I get the feeling the Hibs game would’ve went the same way if we weren’t already in Portugal and it wasn’t overly advertised as a game courtesy of Hobins relationship with someone from that club.

We didn't want the Scottish players being tempted to move back home, so best option cancel it. Good to see we have learnt lessons from last season and are going to go into another season well prepared.

They’ve been on the Biffo gas since he got the job, but to be fair, if Pep Gouardiola got the job something would be amiss. It’s not the managers, just a slooooow collective short circuiting of their ‘brains’.
If Raj could walk on water they’d say dismissively it was because he can’t swim.

HEY! Not having football players at a football club is normal… it doesn’t matter the other teams in league 2 are fielding first half and second half 11’s….don’t upset Snowy with your negativity!

Exactly, plus you don't want the new players to come in too early as they might get too homesick. Its simple good management. Meanwhile, no point playing a friendly as they'll be getting used to playing alongside players that might not be in the starting XI at Walsall.

Of course we should all be positive though. Afterall it's not like we couldn't field a full compliment of reserves at the end of last season, sell most of our best players and then unable to play a friendly. It could be a lot worse we could end up playing Crawford up front . All graeme lees fault though.

If you really hit pay dirt a sink hole will appear at the Vic and you can howl at the moon in delight as everything disappears.
Supporters? You’re just demanding 12 year olds.
Am I going to enjoy this season. Make the most of it girls, if a cancelled friendly gets you in a lather, there’s not too much you can say really.

No we just demand a chance to compete against clubs of similar stature, while paying the most expensive tickets in the league, maybe the least we can expect.

Can't see why this comment is so much of an issue when the statement on the OS says as much:

"This fixture was a last-minute addition to our confirmed pre-season schedule and following a reassessment, we felt that it was more beneficial to spend an uninterrupted week of training at Maiden Castle focusing on building the squad and integrating new players into the pre-season camp without the added fixture in Scotland."

On Pools' last day in Portugal Paul Hartley told Chandy in an interview on Pools' social media that he was hoping to bring in 2 or more 3 players this weekend. Obviously things haven't progressed as quickly as he hoped - which is not to say the deals won't go through in the early part of next week.

It's fair enough to cancel the St. Mirren friendly - can't see the point myself of playing another game with Mark Shelton upfront and half the subs being goalkeepers. On the other hand, the game wouldn't have been arranged in the first place if Pools hadn't anticipated having enough players in by now to make it worthwhile, so it IS a setback of sorts. Pretending it's not is as daft as pretending it's a massive problem.

No that's rubbish. Swop sides with who? Do you mean with other posters on here? No im not like that. More than satisfied when we showed a tiny bit of ambition when we were in the conference. That's all stopped now. If you and pooie1 are happy great but you won't shut down fans who feel we can do a lot better.

If he was chairman  I wonder what he’d say when a fan ‘demanded’ him to do something……. Of course that’ll never happen, cos he’ll never ever be in that position.

Yeah you can't comment on it because we aren't wealthy but it's ok to slate Graeme Lee because they have obviously got experience in managing league 2 clubs

This might help too Mr Billingham.

Any staff or players that leave are only permitted to fall into one of three categories nowadays:-

1. Snakes
2. They were shit anyway.
3. A snake who was shit anyway

be very interesting on friday july 29th. whether those posting today will have a change of heart when we have signed most of our squad for next season. can see a possibility of a couple coming in after the season starts. rather we had a scratch team out for a game than just signing anybody up to make the numbers and impatiant fans happy. just because other teams sign players early it does not mean that they,ll be better than our eventual signings.

Aah, the poisons coming out of the wound finally, still pining for you pinup/ heart throb ex manager who legged it. You couldn’t possibly blame him could you, so you turn to your habitual target. There, there.

I prefer Chicken and Rabbit pie to just plain chicken which is much more tasty in my opinion.
As regard the other issue i am getting very concerned.

I very much doubt your ‘ambition’ will ever be ‘satisfied’, you’re just angry with everything.
If these maligned jocks get us to the playoffs or God forbid promotion, I await your transformation with relish.

This might help too Mr Billingham.

Any staff or players that leave are only permitted to fall into one of three categories nowadays:-

1. Snakes
2. They were shit anyway.
3. A snake who was shit anyway

4. Then get replaced by non league rejects n jock standard Grayfields /Rec players.

Only Joking.

Surely it’s common sense to cancel friendly at St Mirren. T travel all the way to Scotland with what will be half a team awaiting new players coming in. Better off getting full days training in at home. Still plenty of time for games with matches with Blackburn, Lincoln,Sunderland, plus local non league teams lined up. Did one of the regular moaners say we are unprepared?

be very interesting on friday july 29th. whether those posting today will have a change of heart when we have signed most of our squad for next season. can see a possibility of a couple coming in after the season starts. rather we had a scratch team out for a game than just signing anybody up to make the numbers and impatiant fans happy. just because other teams sign players early it does not mean that they,ll be better than our eventual signings.

I don’t understand this slagging off of players before they’ve even seen them kick a ball, bad form that.
The one redeeming feature, is if they do perform well, some people are going to look rather silly and one will carry on howling at the moon.
