reading between the lines and what a very reliable source has told me - an offer is on the table from a NL club. Closer to his home... sure he has a place near Doncaster... wouldnt be too much of a surprise if Notts County having lost their front line have come in for him

Maybe Halifax who have lost their top scorer to Barrow. Certainly not mobile enough if as Hatley has said he wants a fast attacking team. Mike Fondop has signed a contract extension at Oldham!!!!

Wouldn’t be sad to see him go, doesn’t really offer much, looks like he’s running in quick sand.

If he goes, he goes, if he stays, he stays, not really bothered either way.
An indifferent performer, who I can’t see fitting in to the team unless he changes his ‘style’ dramatically.

Was excited to see him after a proper preseason, has moments of magic in him. Hope we get a decent fee if he does go.

He started well enough - 4 goals in February and that brilliant bit of hold up play in the box for Ferguson's goal at Harrogate - then looked more and more laboured and not particularly interested either.

I thought he'd get his second wind at some point when he was fully match fit, but he was dire in the last home against Colchester. Not a leader on the pitch, that's for sure!

Solihull most obvious choice given he's from that way.
They're probably going to lose one of their strikers in Dallas to a league club any day now

Disappointing if he goes. I think he would be good and capable of scoring goals in the right system.

How many more goals can we let go? It was a massive problem last season now looks like we will be relying on a further brand new 3-4 (hopefully) to hit the ground running

I had heard he missed a few training sessions aswell - with no excuse ? knew he would walk into the team under Spike so makes sense. His attitude on the pitch also spoke volumes - would no surprise me if this was true

"The Pools squad stopped at Derby County’s training facilities on their journey to Crawley on Friday and the 29-year-old was meant to join his teammates on the team bus only to head in the wrong direction meaning he would have to drive the rest of the way."

Hang about, our glorious forward line hardly ended the season in glory with the dismal run in.
As regards ‘letting goals go’ other people can score goals as well y’know when they arrive, this clinging to to the wreckage of what we had before, serves no purpose whatsoever.

Who’s form didn’t drop off towards the end of the season?

I’m only concerned with Pools form, the rest can put their form where the monkey put it’s nuts.
Our run in form was abysmal under Lee who didn’t appear too stressed by it, now that was disturbing.

He wasn’t fully fit. His lay off against Harrogate was class. Up until the Rotherham game he was on fire. I wouldn’t sell him…

It’s not a case of clinging on. The full team was dismal in the run in. Prior to that he looked good as did all those around him - and he scored goals! Others can - sure - but we weren’t blessed with a forward before we signed him. Now we potentially flog him in the following window after signing him on a 2.5.

Plenty more fish in the sea, true, but come on. Very interested to see the starting 11 tomorrow.

He has the ability but has he the commitment, that’s the frustrating thing about his play, he could be so much better if he applied himself.
That said Lee’s use of the lad was an even bigger disgrace, leaving him up front alone in most instances unsupported that actually made him unjustly look worse.
If he stays and responds to Hartley’s coaching he’ll do well, the question is, is he up for the challenge because if he his he’ll definitely improve.
The run in was pure lax, slack, non existent control over a team that were left to their own devices and suffered.
Lee didn’t just take his hand off the wheel on the motorway he climbed into the back seat and had a good sleep….. there may have been nothing left to play for, but the fans want to be entertained and a team kept going under the highest expectations hits the next season with an advantage…. The place had become an holiday camp.
Hartley will make a player of Bogle if he let’s him….it’s in Bogles hands, but does he want to stay or go, and whose fault is that….?

more annoying for me as i have seen the real bogle and not the watered down version of the player we got. he reminded me of those ex player charity games where they turned back the clock on a couple of occasions in the game. we do not know the situation with him or the club. if i have to guess it could be a case of a player just losing his love for the game and just cannot be arsed anymore. will not be the first and certainly not the last like that. once you get something in your head it could be impossible for hartley or anyone else to get him back on track.

Can anyone see another club paying a fee for Bogle? Last few years have been a litany of failure for him. If he goes, it will be to save 2 years salary on him. Flattered to deceive. I too think he's just fallen out of love with the game, and the effort needed to get back to where he was is just too great for him. Be interesting to see if the Loids have the same problem with Marcus Maddison.

Bogle AND Carver are both absent from today's line up and bench. Paul Hartley hasn't wasted any time, has he?

He must be good at assessments. He apparently knows what he wants and no doubt told the players what he expects of them… and maybe some are just not up for it.

Bogle is going to Newport County according to this report: https://the72.co.uk/2022/06/29/hartlepo ... iker-exit/

We'll be seeing an ex-Hartlepool striker in every other game in League 2 at this rate

Let’s hope they score as many goals they did for Pools, we won’t have a problem if they do.

His Wiki profile has him down as a Solihull Player weirdly enough ?

heard the Newport rumour a few times now and must be something in it for the Mail to pick up on it albeit they probs get their stories straight from the message boards

how do we know there is more to be gone ? where is this mentioned ?

can only imagine it being Feaths ? god forbid it be Sterry too

It isn't but put it this way looks like we need a new strike force and possibly central defender.

we did anyway even if he had stayed. if bogle had not improved on last season wh would have had a semi crock and a headless chicken up top to put fear into the opposition.

I think we would of gone down with Bogle and carver, can't complain they won't be here. It's who we replace them with, would be nice to get a couple of quality players up front, who have played some league games and actually scored a few.

you mean like bennett who barrow signed from sutton. would have been an ideal bogiereplacement and imagine darlo and spenny have someone better than carver on their books. Meant bogle not bogie.

Bennett appears to be unable to settle anywhere at the moment. Both Stockport and Sutton, both of whom have aspirations to occupy the higher echelons of League two, have rejected him. I think we have to look to better options than Bennett if we are to compete at the sharp end of this league.
Hartley has a plan and is ruthless enough to ditch anybody who remotely doesn't fit that plan.
Let him loose on that plan and see where we are ten games into the coming season and then judgements can be made with a bit more conviction. Survival is plan A, play offs plan B and promotion plan C.
We want a manager who is backed by the club. Hartley was already happy with his budget and it is now been increased with Timi's fee and could be increased even further with fees for Bogle and Byrne. We want a manager who doesn't want anything but total commitment, total effort and total will to win, looks like we've got one.
Get behind him, back him and see where he takes us and ditch all this doom and gloom, especially bashing the chairman and the club by portraying speculation as inevitable fact.

We’ll said Mr D…..watching some people trying to understand the pitfalls of this league is like watching a strategically shaved monkey studying quantum physics, eating the book and assuming they have the answer.
