I was just enjoying the sunshine now you’ve spoilt it. Apparently the manager has told Morris he will not be signing him.

This type of Where's Wally speculation would be helped no end if there were some actual pictures of pre-season training.

Is Jordan Cook fit enough to take part or already back on the treatment table?

Is Timi Odusina training with the rest of the squad? All the chat about him joining Bradford City has gone a bit quiet - Mark Hughes was on Sky Sports News last night saying they've already signed 9 players. Bound to be a centre back or two in that lot. Are their pockets deep enough for a few more?

Maybe Pools are waiting for a delivery of those new training kits before we get any pictures?

I heard a rumour he was all set to go but he tweaked an old injury while eating his Cornflakes.

There will be pics of the squad going to Portugal - there will also now be a televised fixture for us to watch on the Hibs youtube channel - this will be good to see whos who and if there are any trialists etc...

tbh though i thought there would be better coverage of the lads with the new manager etc - even a little video at training like we used to get. Chandy isnt earning his pennies if you ask me - bit of twitter and a few interviews like howay.... get creative ... draw the new blood into the club keep the kids and the oldies informed of whats going on etc... few more interviews with players would be good too

Yep, absolutely right. Communication from the club is "ordinary" to say the least. You would think they would want to stir up interest and stimulate season ticket sales. Is it incompetence or some other reason?

You'd imagine it's because the players that are at training have yet to be announced yet?

couldnt make this shit up man - only at Pools

Gets the nod nearly a month ago that hes only just allowed to start running... i know i had high hopes for the lad and genuinely do know he has what it take at this level (when 100% fit) - but i have to go no further in defending him. This shit has to stop ... who the hell decided to give a man who at the time wasnt even medically fit to run a second bite of the cherry ... shocking

unless he has has hit the sort of playing form he had whilst at sunderland this week i really cant see PH gambling a wage on a player who wont play for him - fresh eyes is better than anything we need with players like this atm so hopefully hes the last one for a long time. No more singing injury prone duds.

eiphos.."who the hell decided to give a man who at the time wasnt even medically fit to run a second bite of the cherry ... shocking"

..stinks..the two boneheads get the boot .. and we still follow their advice and offer this crock a contract?...with his history? ..and even when on specialist advice he wasn't even allowed to run at the time?...and that little fact was kept well and truly under wraps by the club throughout the season..when questioned on him bonehead said only that he had "some bruising" to his leg after "taking a knock" from the last time he played .. nothing about him not even being able to run let alone do any training....ffs....what a a joke..wonder what hartley makes of this complete shitfest..

its no fun being injured and even worse when your body cannot throw em off easily and its one after another you pick up. feel sorry for cook in a way but would feel better for him if we know for certain he will not be in the team photo once its published.

Given the amount of injuries he's had in the last couple of years, if he's not fit for pre-season I can't see any way he'll be kept on by the new management team. If Cook ever gets fully fit again he can restart his footballing career in non-league.

or actually start a life in another field like many of us have had to do through no fault of our own. its not as if he is the first at pools with these multiple injury problems that have took up a wage. A culture thats needs banishing from the club for ever.

I broke my leg in two places playing footy when I was 23 and was in plaster hip to toe for 16 months, but afterwards it’s never quite the same. It’s not so much physical as psychological, you get a bit wary of outcomes and hesitate.
However if you’re playing for a living you will I suppose battle on, sadly though as in any job, if you can no longer do that job 100% it’s time to call it a day.
This appears way too risky a chance to take at our level with a wage tied up.

What I don’t understand is that if I was in his position I would have jumped at the chance to sign. I can’t see him getting offers elsewhere with his recent record.

Or maybe he should have been told there’s nothing to sign.

Doubt it's a coincidence that Hartley signed 2 centre backs last week. Hope at least one of them is reasonably quick because Timi's pace will be the biggest miss.

I CAN CONFIRM .... Jordan Cook has made it to the Algarve

the second photo just posted on the official social media page shows the lads carrying a goal onto the pitch - zoom in and on the left you can clearly see the wee Cook.

again - baffled - the man couldnt run a month ago hes now turning out in pre season summer camp to kick a ball.

im hoping we see another LB or left sided defender come in for cover of Ferguson - hopefully get the lad from Leeds and sign another striker onto the books - someone with League 1 or 2 experience - and no crock !

very surprised we havnt seen at least one Cove lad come down yet ... this maybe a good thing ..as PH knows its well out of their depths this level./.... they where beaten in a preseason 2-0 by Dunfermline im lead to believe the other day aswell.

Maybe they’ve given him a new role at Pools like ‘Tattoo’ off the original Fantasy Island, hobbling about doing things of no consequence in the Algarve.

Stockport have just signed a centre half from Northampton so maybe he’s back off to Bradford.

Edit: Just checked the official site:

So, Bradford after all. Don't know what his beef is with Pools but great that there's money now and maybe more later.

Stockport signed Fraser Horsfall 6’ 3” centre half from Northampton. Classed as the most dominate defender in the league who scored 9 goals last season. We can only dream can’t we. Goodness knows what wages he’s on

Come on, it’s all about the money usually, we sometimes foolishly delude ourselves that they like us as much as we like them. We all fall for it where players join us and think they share our belief, but the don’t.
We forget that generally speaking, and there are exceptions, owners, manager, back room playing staff and players are contractors doing a job and don’t share our passion.
Some do, but they’re getting rarer to find.

..now there's a question...can only think the reason hartley took him to the algarve was to make up the numbers..he didn't feature and wasn't listed for the hibs game so there is hope...don't think hartley is a bloke who can be easily fooled tbh..

I have heard from a reliable source Snowy that certain sun tanned Portugese ladies are equally devastated that you were overlooked for the trip.
I am carrying out the very stressful task of consoling these ladies. I think it might be a long, drawn out process so I'm taking my time.
The things I do.

If Pools are not taking up the option to sign Bryn Morris probably due to injuries during his loan I feel it SHOULD almost spell an end yo any bizarre idea of extending cook's contract and as they say too many Cooks/Cookes spoil the broth.

Mr E I can think of no other reason than injury to cancel Morris’s chance of a contact.

you would think the club would keep us up to date about our supercrock..but they seem reluctant to do so for some reason?....inexplicably offered a contract at the end of a season in which he was out injured for nearly all of it.....made only 4 appearances..only 10 appearances for gateshead the season before for the same reason...then in may on specialist advice it appears jords started running after having been off his legs for several months without anyone being told....went training in algarve in june ...the latest from his twitter account now is that he has had yet more surgery ...hes giving a thumbs up with a faked poor old me face and talking about a planned return at christmas "stronger than ever" after a "nightmare injury?"...there's been quite a few of them of course....so from what hartley has said previously about pools having a "duty" to help him get fit looks like all his rehab may be done at pools which is fair enough i suppose... but ffs surely boneheads ridiculous idiotic offer of a contract now finally needs to be well and truly binned once and for all..
