Drove along Mainsforth terrace taking the dog on the beach at Seaton, drove up over Newburn Bridge when a silver Mercedes’ drove out of the Newburn Bridge car park on the bank and drove down Newburn Bridge into the traffic head on ….the driver wasn’t moving he just pressed on like he was on the right side of the road and all the cars behind me had to swerve into the near side to avoid a collision. Fuckwit
There does seem to be an increase of arseholes who interpret the Highway Code to their own demented ‘vision’, either that or they can’t read or haven’t got a licence in the first place.

quicker people realize once they are behind the wheel its a full time job with total concentration and not a wander round the shops. do think driving standards have really dropped over the years with an attitude of if i,m not speeding then anything goes. one of our morning dog walks consist of parking in a lay bye on a straight narrowish de restricted country road. there is a big dip in it and at the end a sharp bend with s stone quarry half a mile down a hill thats regularly used by lorries. the insistant of doing 60 down there is beyond belief and you never see a break light at the end of the long straight. then there is the one that comes up from time to time when people turn right at the end of a motorway slip road to travel the wrong way. a practise that seems popular with the old flat cap brigade. a manouver thats nearly impossible due to the sharpness of the eventual corner.

The average car is nothing more than a 1-2 ton lethal weapon which if used correctly is relatively safe but not used correctly is a killer.
I dont understand the law which is very lenient to mad car drivers but if you wave anything that remotely looks like a gun you get your head blown off.
Also i understand the police will not chase criminal off roaders/bikers if they dont have a helmet on due to H&S issues. Is anyone clued up on this aspect of the law and where / when this was put in place??

I know it’s been said before, but why do the indicators on AUDI/BMW cars never seem to work…..
I remember reading about the ZIL lanes on Moscow’s roads for senior Communist Party members belong kept clear for them so they could have a smooth drive to work…. are the driver or AUDI/ BMW’s the new ZIL drivers?

pointless though attempting to chase an off road vehicle that has gone off road unless they have a similar adapted vehicle. we had one of these in my area and did a good job catching them until they actually wrote it off, never to be replaced. who would be a copper in 2022 where if they chased someone on a road and the person they chased had an accident and was killed the coppers themselves would be held to account for their actions not being possibly 100 per cent right. might be better turning up late to a call out when they have gone than putting your own life or job at risk.

no for a fact that my lads driving is different when he is behind his BMW than when he drives his peugeot 406 or his ford s max. must be something somewhere were you have to drive like a complete dick in them. the 0 to 60 times of all three have the odd second between em all so its something thats beyond me.

As soon as they’re caught using it, the phone should be immediately taken away and held as evidence till the case is over….. see how they like their lives buggering up ever so slightly.

think doing that would be more severe than chopping peoples hands off for thieving. they are using them because they just cannot leave them alone. its a modern disease which is getting worse. seen some at the vic playing with em continually during the game. even if they are checking the scores they might have well stayed at home or use morrisons car park if they want to hear a bit of crowd noise. at death i feel some will insist on their mobile being buried or burned with them with its ring tones going out when the curtain drops.

Thing is, those little plastic chatter boxes they embrace more firmly and lovingly than their kids, contain their lives and without them their pathetic existence would collapse like a bog roll in a thunderstorm.

I only check in on grumpy old man threads like this one once in a while.

I drive an 8-year-old Audi convertible. Lovely car to have in this weather - though with petrol the price it is I'm glad I don't do half the motoring I used to.

I don't tailgate and I always signal in good time.

In my experience VW Golf drivers are the worst for poor driving manners. Nissan Jukes are the ugliest cars on the road. Have a nice day. :-D

doubt in the future there will be a nissan juke owners club that take their prize posession to car rallies. in the same way you can say the same of the vast majority of new vehicles that look like the older models on steriods. are vehicle designers taking the piss or have left their labradors behind going into work.

If you don’t tailgate, signal in good time and drive an Audi…… the Audi drivers will hunt you down. :o
Joking aside, it’s never the car, it’s the driver they attract. While most Audi/BMW drivers are ok, they do attract a bigger percentage of daft lads of all ages.

they are just a new version of capri drivers of that era and the hot hatch gti ones later on. just wonder what the present day version of the sunday driver is now. used to be rovers that no one under 60 seemed allowed to drive, an austin cambridge or a talbot anything and every visitor to bronte country since 1901.

I wonder how many of these"own car" delivery drivers for the like of Hermes & Just Eat etc are insured for business as they need it?

I also wonder how many of their cars have been seized by Mr Plod because they don't have the proper insurance?

actually i never thought about that when i used my own car on occasions to deliver pizzas and burgers when the firms car was unavailable. mind you i doubt the plod would expect deliveries to be done in an opel monza that i used.

Lots of people who claim "mileage" from their employers need it but many dont have business insurance.
The consequences can be serious.
