cannot abide any of them. i have got it down to a split second now with the remote to turn em off and turn back on when they finish. never bought anything thats been advertised on the box and do not know anyone who has.

Up till recently the adverts always portrayed husbands as gormless dullards who had trouble co-ordinating walking and chewing a sweet. The wife was always wise, smart and infinitely better than her husband at everything.

This nonsense is getting big business and government to jump to the tantrum like demands of shrieking minority groups in society…. and astonishingly they do.

The multinationals and UK businesses that pay for TV advertising are vastly more interested in selling their products and services than looking politically correct.

Anyone who tries to get more than a few grand in sponsorship from a nationally-known company finds out very quickly that almost invariably those decisions are made in London. The reality in London (plus Birmingham and Manchester) is already a match for the multi-ethnic look of 90% of TV advertising these days.

No doubt ad agencies are keen to be seen to be 'on trend' when it comes to the performers they select, but it's their clients who make the final decisions.

a lot depends on what area of these cities people go to or live even in london. everyone just thinks about the areas where there is a large diverse population and not others where they are rarely seen.

I'm in London for work quite often and honestly that's not my experience. In 2019 the ONS estimated that just over 43% of Londoners identified as 'White British' - compared with 93% in North-East England.

The 2021 census findings are released on 28th June -no doubt they'll reveal that London has become even more diverse.

Remember three of us driving down to Barking in East London and arriving about six in the morning to pick someone up to return to Hartlepool. Drove down the high street which I spent a lot of time in in the 80’s and 90’s and was shocked, it had changed dramatically and not for the better.

London couldn't function without all the incomers from all over the world - including 'Other White' immigrants from Europe and Russia. They do most of the low paid work and run most of the small businesses in the capital. You see it as soon as you get off the train at Kings Cross and in every shop, fast food outlet and hotel you go into.

Catch an early morning tube into central London from an outer London borough and you'll be in no doubt who's up with the larks to do most of the graft.

Seriously? The UK population was 50 million in 1950. It's 68 million now and there are more job vacancies than people to fill them. British couples have been averaging less than 2 kids per family for a long time now. Like most developed countries, we've got a rapidly aging population. We're all living longer with less kids to replace us.

Nice if jobs were spread across the country except of being permanently moored in the South East. Most people can’t afford to move about the country as they once used to simply because they can’t afford to live in the South for housing costs alone.
The globalists like Blair will no doubt welcome masses of cheap labour to solve their problem, so much cheaper.

I wonder if there is a link between the vastly increasing population and the need for extra labour? If you have more and more people you will need more workers to provide for them. I mean does our far thinking government decide that in x year's time the country would require x numbers of adults to fulfil labour requirements so immigration is increased to meet those demands or do they just let anyone who wants to come here, come and not worry about the consequences like housing shortages, schools full to bursting, the NHS no longer functioning etc. Is there something else to be considered here: social cohesion? The character of whole areas being transformed and in some places English is no longer the first language. I appreciate things change over time but the change is happening much too quickly and in my view it is to the detriment of the country as a whole.

Diversity is the buzz word, but while diversity of choice in a number of things can be a good thing, in culture it comes up as change ….and cultural change is a measured process, not to be rushed or imposed, there lays the road to resentment.
The whole history of Europe in the first half of the 20th Century screams that out to us and these were developed European cultures with classically similar traditions.
Integration is what is surely needed as if you intentionally head to a country it surely has an appeal to you culturally, for you to engage in, however, if you’re coming for a fast buck and isolation, retaining all aspects of your previous culture, you will be a cultural outpost, an island.
People will always retain certain aspects of their original culture but an adapted version to meet new circumstances, that form of change is unavoidable too.
Expecting an host culture to accept new cultures on an equal footing will only go so far and human nature sees a threat to it’s way of life, real or imagined…..integration has to be gradual and measured, no matter how much the ‘enlightened’ try to convince us mere plebs.

The government really does not give a shit about social conditions in the uk is all about financial growth that increases the net wealth of some of the "things" & that are on the Tory benches in Parliament. Planning is not something they take note of and just respond to the political imperative at the time.

do the people themselves want integration anyway. not just people coming over here but we are as bad. if we move even to a new area of this country, start a job and you hear a north east accent. its like meeting a long lost relation where immediatly you become friends where the possibility if they had been your neighbour back home you,d hardly speak to em. where i have worked along side immegrants and those born from their families you walk into the canteen and what do you get. asians one side, whites the other and west indians somewhere in the middle. people get on though without much resentment with piss taking from all quarters. ask or tell em where they had to sit yhen not over keen feering a backlash from the far right.there would be an uproar and a guardian headline. more or less everyone is happy in their own little world and cultures. leave each other alone, do not push certain sections and everyone will have far less problems. always remember its not just white british who have a downer on new mass immegration, its some older immegrants also thats worroed for a backlash from the far right.

Diversity is most certainly "the buzz word" of the liberal establishment though I have yet to hear a cogent argument as to exactly why "diversity" is a good thing. We just seem to be expected to to accept the idea without question.

doubt any minority groups either think its a good idea. they are more bothered about the small groups they are in to bother about the rest and to embrace them as we are told to do.

I was eating my tea, actually enjoying it when a fem advert came up for trimming public hairs…I mean, come on man, is nothing sacred, but that said they’re always been pushing those industrial ‘panties’ for ladies with leaking bladders…it shows the lady of a certain age meeting her date dressed to the eyes, safe, …safe that is if one thing doesn’t lead to another, then it will get embarrassing.

but the coffee would give you life threatening burns if you could manage to drink it as served to you. might be an idea to take the top off the coffee container and let the heat warm your food up. not a hater of the place but they do over do the mac everything in their products. a good idea at first but its got more than a bit corny now.

I fully support the need for the 20% non white Caucasians to be fully represented in adverts but it is about time that a campaign is started to get the 80% fully represented.
