They will be sure to give away as many free tickets as possible to fill Wembley so they will be able to insist the women's game is just as popular as the men's. It is an agenda more about social engineering than it is about sport.

Not about filling Wembley it’s about being politically correct, if they decided to play the woman’s final elsewhere it would be seen as being anti women if that’s the word I am looking for.

I know exactly what it’s about, creating a scenario that’s an illusion. If womens football had to survive on non league terms they’d go bust.
They’ve been taken under the wing of the woke, creating an image of it being truly as popular as the mens game. If girls want to play football, crack on, but let’s not kid ourselves.
I’ve watched it, it’s head shakingly tedious. But let’s pretend eh.

so womens sports come before charity now. surely with it being called the charity shield that must be where the money goes or is it a misuse of the word charity.

If it is for raising funds for charity, they’ve just wiped 66% of possible takings on tickets, as the ground capacity will be massively reduced.
But we have to keep up the pretence people are interested to satisfy the new puritans.

They’re doing it out of a dogmatic obsession with ‘equality’ .
It’s commercially unviable and most of these so called club teams are just limpet teams clinging on to bigger clubs, but it ticks a box for the smug manipulators of public opinion.

true snowy. its been around since about WW1 continually and not a modern invention. good luck to the lasses who want to play the game and true fans of it, but do not shove it or any other equality stuff down my throat as it will more likely do more harm than good.

Now we are getting women's transfers mixed in with the real football transfers on BBC Sport and not only that they are being given priority ahead of EFL transfers, Arghhh!!!!!

I suspect that BBC sports is in the grip of wet hind the ears yoghurt knitters who are driven more by their woke washing at Uni than any appreciation of football.
It’s just another thing to be ‘house trained’ to their satisfaction, that needs to be in their eyes, more politics than sport behind it.

How much are these so called transfers, as they mostly appear to be between the top Premier clubs pet project contribution to so called ‘equality’. How many are actually stand alone ‘clubs’ living on their gate receipts, like in the real world.

The real stand-alone women's football clubs like Durham City Women and Lewes Women are being remorselessly squeezed out by the Premier League affiliates.

The BBC et al will be creaming themselves that the Janet-cum-latelys Liverpool Women took the only promotion place in the women's second division (Championship). That means next season they'll have a replica Big Six to bang on about just like the real thing - as it is Chelsea, Arsenal , Man C, Man U and Spurs women finished in the top 5 of their 'Super League.'

One bit of inequality that the overpaid, under-supported elite women footballers will be very happy to keep on getting away with is that there are only 22 games in their Super League season... How the Beeb manage to give so much coverage to a bit of part-time football is a wonder in itself

I could understand a womens league, no problem, but it would have to survive on it’s own financial resources.
These parasite clubs, stuck like limpets to the arse of the big six is pathetic. They’ll win everything just like their masters voice expects and this allows them to take a cut in the reflected glory stakes, while promoting the ‘parent’ club as caring and sharing….and sucking the life out of anyone not in the elite daring to compete.
Dare say it allows the FA to bask in it too.

But the FA banned womens football from 1921 till 1971 so they have oven ready victimhood prepared with all the trimmings if anyone dares question their place in the hearts of the BBC.

I don’t think the BBC give a monkey’s toss about the FA ban…. they just love being woke and will happily embrace it.
What happens though if trans players start ‘qualifying’ for the ‘Wimmins’ England team……..?
The way things are going, any woman training to win a prize in sport might as well give up and take up non ferrous welding.

well that would be pointless learning that as they,d be behind the trans lot for jobs. there will be less around for lasses soon apart from cleaning, cooking or sticking their fingers up at the trans by having a baby.

You’ve made a good point there Mr A…. this trans business is actually taking women backwards in what they can achieve as women. Sport in particular.

women have had to battle for years for equality. now they have been pushed back once again for a small minority and not 50 per cent of the population. i actually must have met thousands on thousands of men and women in my lifetime but no one who has had the op or dress and live as a woman with their tackle intact. again is it the trans lot to blame in the first case or others pushing them with their own woke agenda and being used and not helped.

oz.."woke as all fuck"

the article rambles on and on...thousands of words from the bbc diversity dept ..then this

"In order to compete internationally in official competition they will need the backing of the Afghan Football Association (AFA), and the approval of the Taliban, which nobody expects to be given."

..what a complete waste of time..in other words there is no afghans womens team..only a few refugees living abroad pretending..what a woke joke..

Not really the equivalent though is it. Ones probably world famous by now, the other’s world famous at the BBC.

Due to the tarts football being on you can’t listen to any BBC local radio stations online, it says for contractual reasons. It’s the same when when any tournament is on but the tarts football ?

well the lasses scored 5 last night making it 13 goals in the last two games. actually started to get interested now if only for that pointless comment about no black players in the side. hope they hammer everyone in front of em and win the thing if only to keep the diversity gobs shut.

I drive along there most mornings and laugh at the pushy parents you see there at weekends with a huge car and a small training ground set up, the parent always urging the kids on to do this, do that and hopefully become Premier League players.
Sadly it appears the talent shrinks in proportion to the more kit and coaching there is.

plus the numbers decrease in each age group also the older they get. funny how you mentioned a large car. that was something i noticed in officiating in the midlands pro clubs under 18 league in the 90,s. was like a top make new car lot. doubt these kids were from traditional football playing council estates running a 10 year old plus car like i was.

I really wish kids were not pushed into a mini version of the premier league with hi tech kit of every kind.
Let them enjoy a kick about and naturally hone their skills instead of being coached by a system which will be proven in 10 years to be detrimental to their development as people and players.

You’ll have heard of Albert Tallywag then, he worked in the Bus Shelter Museum in Aycliffe

Know him well as we both graduated from Peterlee University with 1st class degrees in Viticulture and Oenology.
Glad to see he has made a success of his life.

Aye, he’s cornered the pubic wig market in Horden.

The hype around women's footie will go up several notches after England beat Spain last night.

That said, I watched the game and got to be honest, lasses football has come on loads since I last had a look a couple of years ago. Two well coached, skillful sides giving it a right go for 120 minutes - put it this way, I've sat through plenty of England internationals involving the men's team that were turgid rubbish in comparison.

Will never get used to the squealy noise the capacity crowd made when England were on the attack - then again it was played at Brighton
