I didn’t know that Hughie stayed in the area. Nice to think that things turned out well for him.He came to us when manager Bill Gurney ( I think) decided to raid the Scottish second division for the summer recruitment - the likes of Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath. Hughie was a decent right-winger, Willie Bradley was the best of the bunch on the left wing, blokes called Hinshelwood and Cunningham never made an impact, and I think there were a couple of others in the job lot, but memory fails.
