When I was working I looked forward to Bank Holidays but now retired I couldn't care less.

As for the Jubilee celebrations, if they were being held in my garden I'll look the other way.

Yes, we get bank holidays off but don't get paid for them.

Yes lots of people think everyone gets paid for Bank Holidays, under EU Employment Laws it was 5.6 weeks paid holidaya year which could include Public Holidays, no idea now as we are no longer in the EU, it was pro rats for part time workers
Could be worse if you live in the States, it is I believe at the discretion of employer how many holidays you can have.

Our lass is busy organising, doesn’t bother me one way or the other, but if she who must be obeyed wants to put flags out she can, I certainly don’t want her tanks on my lawn so to speak.

Er, I suspect Mr Derwent said it tongue in cheek.

With you all the way Mr A. Cant bloody stand Royalty at the best of times and am retired so bank holidays to me mean the shops shut early and there's even less chance of getting a GP appointment. Yes, I admit it......I am a miserable git.

Never mind moaning about Bank Holidays, I took early retirement and now find as soon as you wake up, you’re working. Not fair.

Tell me about it, done enough decking to build a replica of the Mary Rose with the wood, built a summerhouse, new shed ….. at least you could skive at work, but the obergruppenfuherer is always there overseeing your ‘freedom’.

Nah...medium.
During lockdown my wife took up the crochet route and she has become very good at it.
For the Jubilee celebrations her contribution to the decoration of our village was to crochet a cover for the top of the post box and a cushion, topped with a crown. It went viral on the village website and is currently going skywards on Doncaster Metropolitan Borough website with over seven thousand likes, plus hundreds of comments.
I'll get her to put a picture of it on here.
I've got to say the atmosphere the Jubilee has created is nothing short of phenomenal round our way and, after the pandemic, that is good to see.
And the sun is shining.
Go with the flow and enjoy a few beers in the sunshine. We can always return to the grumpy grandad club later.
Bah Humbug.

These ‘performers’ had their day in the 70’s, if this was the Silver Jubilee in 1977 that means they’d be inviting George Formby, Arthur Askey and Glenn Miller if he’d still been around. Never too old to Boogie eh.
Just caught the Beckhams holding a tea party him and her with their medals on display, what the hell did she get one for…..?

I tried to avoid this parade by doing an outside wiring job but was that cold had to go in….seriously it’s like being castrated with a vice only more cruel….death by dross.
Really can’t take any more….Fook it, I’m off outside to the joy of electricity. bbolt

It's on in our house as well but relief is on it's way. The Wales v Ukraine match is live on ITV at five o'clock. The female commentator has called a reliant robin a robin reliant. Then there's Naga Munchetty's sister following the "floats" having orgasms. I'm just taking the piss.

That’ll be history, this has been pure undiluted syrupy showbiz schmaltz.
Typically, after four days of fawning sycophantic orgasmic delight the meeeeja ran true to form …. with one news programme asking if the Royal Family should foot the bill…what a bunch of forty faced hypocrites.
I got a bollocking for walking in and asking what the self inflating Beckhams were doing on and when did Lulu become an expert on royal affairs, seriously BBC wtf.
I then left in a huff.
