Had a look at the plans and images for it down the marina and frankly it looks like a cross between a Bulgarian Railways sub station and a 1960’s community centre on a sink estate.
Make an effort.
Not forgetting the promotional blurb about what the ‘design’ was based on, who came up with that tosh….?

Looks like the Apollo Pavilion in Peterlee.
Yet another cheap bodge job for the town just like the rail station revamp.
It just feels like Cleveland County Council is back just under the name of Tees Valley Combined Authority. It just now its shiny and glossy.
History has a way of repeating itself.

Reminds also of that eyesore of a giant shoebox they stuck on the waterfront at Liverpool. The inside was more ghastly than the outside. How do they get away with it, where the architects weened on Lego bricks…..?

While I’m in top gear, why do they constantly go on about all the jobs being created on the Redcar steelworks site. Not a problem, but how the flying f@*k do you get there from Hartlepool without a car.
That river divides us, not unites us.
Driving to Redcar is almost as far as driving to Tyneside.

Redcar steel area is a massive site not just what you see from Seaton. I went there by train the other day. Apparently major problems with contaminated land plus the dredging requirements and resulting pollution issues which is a story that's going to run and run.
All the shit and heavy metals pumped into the tees over 100 years is trapped within the silt.I was told this 15 years ago by a reliable source. Move the silt and the pollutants are released.
Let's hope this can be solved otherwise "Teesworks" will have to be renamed.......answers on a postcard to...........
