Hmmm….. first choice? ..or second fiddle to an allegedly ‘improving’ Killip?
I’d like someone a bit more experienced, but who knows.

cant see us signing anyone before the new manager is installed..but maybe geek boy has identified jameson from his computer checks and thinks he should be able to do the deal himself..anything is possible given some of the ludicrous decisions that have been made in recent days by the club...nothing would surprise me tbh...

What makes you think he couldn’t do the deal? I really doubt a manager has much influence on the paperwork side of any deal.

There is still enough idle hands at the club just now to make decisions on getting players through the door id suspect - in no particular order of the Dance id go as far as saying:

Recruitment guy is already looking at Targets based on what Lee and Nels both set out before close of season.

Recruitment Guy and Sweens / Nels outline players / get made aware of local players etc...

Hobin may of been in contact with various sources helping identify targets for the club - passes the info on to members of backroom staff.

Raj and the board acquire this info from above sources and pull the trigger to get contracts in place and look to sign players. ?

Our last player from York is a massive hit - dont know anything about the lad nor seen him but he helped get York promoted so cant be that bad.

Don’t know who said that about Molyneux but he or she was right. He couldn’t get a game under Challinor when we played 2 up top last season and didn’t look right at the start of the season when he did play in a front 2. He has always been a winger/wide forward and a very good one too at this level.

..so youre the bloke who compared timid timi to rio ferdinand...right?...class...so have a think..mols has played up top for us all season..if he is so shite in that position as you and jonny suggest why is there reportedly a queue of clubs from higher leagues wanting to sign him...?

I’ve always taken ‘up top’ to mean in a front 2 so that’s what I was referring to. I suppose nowadays it can mean out wide in a front 3 which he does do well in.
Timi is class.

If you care to look into his performances then I can’t see how I am wrong? He was much more influential to the team right of a three and less so upfront.

His effort made up for his lack of knowledge in the position and his goal return wasn’t awful but much better in his preferred position.

Plenty of clubs use the system having specific staff for recruitment and a head coach. Not saying that is right or wrong but you can be a good manager and be awful at recruitment and vice versa.

But who am I to correct someone that can copy a YouTube link.

Jameson is very interesting. The first time I saw him play for Sunderland Ryhope CA in Northern League 2nd Division maybe 8 or 9 years ago. I thought he looked much too good for NL". Looked into it and he had been released by the Boro in the summer, was about 20. He only lasted there 3 months before Darlo took him. Saw him for them a few times whilst they were moving up the leagues. Then at a Blyth game there he was. It is one of the strange things in football that players just get stuck in Non League, a short spell at South Shields and 3 years at York caught out by the virus I suspect.

Thought he would have been in the Conference at least a while back but as the only North east club we never looked at him then.

Could see him challenging Killip for a First team place. Hopefully he will join a League club as there are far worse keepers at our level.

If he’s as good as some say he is, then surely another club according to the Jonah’s will be ahead of us obviously sign him.
Time will tell, see who comes for him.

Just as a matter of interest, if we signed all the players we should have signed according to people on here, we’d have a squad of 128 players for the coming season.

with all the injuries they,d pick up pools need a squad of that number just to allow em to play in their proper position and fill the bench. Whether this jameson thing will come off is another matter. i,ll never right anyone off just because they came from non league or get over excited if they were ex premier league either.

he didn,t play much under challinor as i heard he,d had covid and was struggling with his fitness. whilst i prefer him playing wide behind a front 2 he only played up top due to the fact that we had no one else to fill that position. an experiment out of neccesity that came off to a certain extent but we lost him in his natural position though.

Portsmouth manager reported to have watched him and decided not to go for him. I can still see him being at Pools next season.

Jameson did really well for us, prone to the odd error but there again who isnt!
He had a bad run for us where he was gifting a goal or two nearly every other game and as usual, certain sections of the crowd starting getting on his back.
Gray lost patience too and he was dropped and eventually released , replaced by Adam Bartlett.
In an ideal world they should have kept him on, he had deserved it for the long run of good performances, but Gray wanted the budget spent elsewhere.
Our loss was Blyths gain as he was outstanding for them before moving to York.

GKs out of any position on the pitch mature better and become better players the older they get - apart from perhaps the premier league - there is tonnes of young keepers who spend a lot of their youth careers at the dog and duck and come their early 30s are kicking it in the championship / L1 (albeit most are loans to these smaller clubs from better bigger clubs.)
But always worth taking a chance on young keepers with good reviews from both fans and other coaches etc.

could be the case that they do not pick up the non contact injuries that outfield players get once they are coming up to their mid 30,s. if their legs go then its not the problem that outfield players have. as long as they keep agile there is no reason they cannot play till they are 40 if they still want to do.

I thought the lure of the north east might work in our favour.
He won't experience the same passion for the game at Harrogate, like he experienced at York.

Yeh York.. the much bigger club... he will feel like hes gone backwards not into the League... although his bank balance will say otherwise.

hopefully we havnt missed out on a really good keeper - get this bloody manager announced and lets get some players signed up!

starting to hate that snidey little club even more now - hope Armstrong comes back to us and puts 3 past them in the first meeting of next season !

He was part of the ‘sign anyone fever’ that pops up at this time of year. Not really bothered at all, just a passing distraction, we need an ‘experienced’ league keeper who doesn’t need ‘improving’.
Simple as that.

These nowhere near wages, first of all who has decided to actually make an offer to a player whilst we wait for a manager to be appointed and secondly who decides on his worth to the club.
Have we actually signed a manager and he is pulling the strings whilst, for some bizarre reason, his name can't be or won't be announced.
None of this cloak and dagger stuff is appealing to me one little bit.
Actually attending matches next season is way on the back of my mind never mind buying a season ticket.
It's turning into a farce.
Polite reminder to the club. THE DEADLINE FOR SEASON TICKET PURCHASES AT THE EARLY BIRD PRICE ENDS TOMORROW.
Announce something for God's sake.

Are they appointing people but they keep dying in mysterious circumstances…..? (17 so far)

Have we opted for an alien manager and still can’t contact it…..?

Is it true Vera’s been interviewed…..?

Is the new manager pregnant and due to give birth this week…..?

Is Robo-manager being built in the volcano under the Vic and still charging up…..?

We should be told. :angry-tappingfoot:

thing is atmosphere does not pay the bills, but if he says in his new signing video that harrogate is somewhere i have always set my heart out to be then he is a liar and a political career in his fiture outside the game.
