"There's a constraint".

Does anyone outside the UK even know who Jermaine Jenas is?

And please, please beat the yanks. I'd rather see us lose to the loids than them.

Are you suggesting he didn't deserve to be on the same stage as World Cup greats like Cafu? What about his one England goal in a friendly against Switzerland

England are nailed on to win their group, even if they never get out of first gear.

I was in a bar in Milwaukee with a bunch of Americans when that goal went in against Rob Green.

Absolutely slaughtered...
Put it right for me, please!

All banana skins i think, Wales are good, Scotland are determined, and Ukraine will be even more determined. USA are also good and will want to beat us as well.

Iran play absolutely turgid football but the kind England used (thankfully not so much now) struggle against.

Yet if England get out the groups...I think they'll have a good tournament.

Everybody wants to beat everybody else. USA managed to lose to Panama, Costa Rica and Canada scraping through their qualifying competition. There's one proper test against Wales or Scotland or Ukraine but only Portugal have an easier Group. I'm as conditioned as any England fan to expect the worst but these days England have the winning habit.

If we can’t progress out of this group we don’t deserve to be there.

Cant get excited about England football team since it become one big political campaign. Sick of the lot of them. If England get knocked out watch out for all the racism stories. If they were playing in my back garden I would close the curtains.

Agree 100%. I have little time for the England team and it’s trappings, like the elite of the Premiership as they become more detached from the average supporter. Once they entered the world of preaching down to us, you realised they had given themselves a status only they believed they had. Over paid, overrated ego’s with the IQ of a steam iron who wouldn’t know the meaning of the word humble, it’s all bling, money and sermons.

We should comfortably win that group.
Would be nice to play Wales or Scotland.
Fans need to be careful.

It's ironic though isn't it? I don't so much disagree with what they say, but they equally seem more than happy to play in a nation that has basically enslaved migrant workers to build stadiums and has an appaling human rights record.

Do as I say and not as I do, I guess.

Losing to Scotland or Wales would be unbearable.

I'd leave your pink blazer at home if you're thinking of making the trip kpg.

Thats what i was talking about though, every other group is neutral games, we have at least one derby, if not two.

It's like Chelsea having to play Kettering and Blackburn, while Pools have to play Darlington and Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup.

Any idea what time the matches will be played?
Late say 10 pm due to heat and to fit with European schedule?

Germany and Austria always seem to get put in the same qualifying group whenever Austria actually manage to qualify - which they've not done this time around. And the Yanks don't count as a derby for England just because we watch a lot of American-made tripe on TV and they get Downton Abbey

can i also join the club. For many fans the england team are really a television programme where playing at wembley, especially night games, are a no go unless you have a large wallet and time if you live anywhere north of birmingham. then the novalty value of international football has also gone down the pan with the amount of pointless qualifying games played plus even more pointless friendly games. all this is shown by the vast amount of caps players now get compared to those in the past. 100 capped billy wright would be looking for his 200th if he was playing now. mind you do not forget the money though.
