We have a right bunch of morons in amongst them, after what he did for us last season and to chant shite like that, I'd have him back in a second but who would want to come back to that bunch of idiots.

Agree. Mostly coming from the 'super fans' in the North West Corner - though to be fair their average age is about 14 these days.

Well I’m not sure what they were chanting in the Mill House side but he was applauded in the Town End and Cyril Knowles and rightly so.

yeh was bad crack - rolled my eyes at a few near me chanting away

if he tore up his contract on the pitch last night and threw on a pools shirt the entire place would welcome him back with open arms that for sure

that's one thing that has annoyed me at the Vic over the years.

I recall our own players getting dogs abuse at times too, its embarrassing.

so true. its football and to some fans the worst thing a player can do is leave their club. its only a job to them and are not fans of the club. far worse is a fan that deserts there club for another. even most exiles are poolies at heart even if they do not get all their football fix watching their preferred team.

When an ex player gets abuse, it’s because they’re good at their job, regardless of how they play.
Stockport should be interesting next season

there are limits to abuse....however well deserving...but rhys oates actually deserves nothing but thanks from us ...for the 100% graft he put in on every one of the 152 occasions he pulled on that shirt...and for the 32 goals he scored...14 of which were vital in getting our league status back this season...i remember when he was first signed by ronnie moore...20 yrs old.....was played wide on the wing out of position... and the mill house moaners and gobhites regularly gave him a really bad time....often echoed on radio tees by that fuckwit journalist ex northern echo...he left us after his contract had run out because he had a much better offer elsewhere...so what ffs....but the kind of vile shite dished out to him by some of the goons in the NWC the other night was an absolute disgrace ...it really was sad and shameful .....

Remember, crap players who return get ignored, Oates shouldn’t be bothered by minorityNeanderthal community chuntering, it’s the frustration of the those who live rent free in their heads and he’ll understand the majority do appreciate his input.

Abuse of any kind can not be tolerated be they opposition or pools players or managers of either team. If they played well for us in the past like Oates whose goals got us promoted a big thank you. The same with Challinor despite the way he left should be applauded for getting us back in the league. Also if Stockport do go up he will be the first manager to take two teams up from the National league.

Sorry Mr Essex, sadly you’ll never stop that tribal faction reacting as they do. You could appeal to their better nature....... wherever they left it, but on second thoughts don’t bother.

think the abuse could have actually been worse if we,d have had mansfield at the first game of the season at the vic. possibly with a retentive memory of some fans they,d have forgotton by now that oates was an ex player and would have needed reminding.
