Oscars, Baftas et al turn me off. Apart from the tit on show they are a total waste of time.
The BBC and their presenters drool over them as if they were life changing.
If it's gonna turn into a brawl every time it takes place then I might get interested. We might just see how tough the so called tough guys really are.
Total yawn fest.

Strange that this was the first item on radio 2 news reports yesterday relegating the little spat in Ukraine to second spot.

They're full of the fact that Holby City has it's last showing tonight. I can happily say I have never watched it.
Not a soap fan and happy to say, neither is the wife.

Holby City, the dumb offspring of Casualty .... which for some unknown reason, has been going for absolute decades and probably features in some prehistoric cave scribblings.

You’ve made a good point there, the wife stopped watching ALL the soaps a long time ago, but pointed out that even the least offensive soap in Coronation Street portrays an inner city crime hell hole that would make moving into a street full of smack heads a blessed relief and a lot safer.

they should have moved it to the north east till we could see pools players making regular guest appearances. some could in fact be regular features.

If a depressing, melodramatic, over produced Casualty just wasn't enough for you, you always had Holby City as well.

If it wasn't for the financial backing of the british tax payer, both those shows would have got took off life support years ago (ba dum tish).

And to think, those places are nothing compared to Aidensfield, a small, would be peaceful Yorkshire hamlet, filled with criminals.

Edit- Forgot about County Midsomer, an even more dangerous place.

The wife loves ‘Vera’, God knows why, she’s the most unlikely looking detective in the world, it’s filmed in perpetual half light and the whole thing is dragged out laboriously for two hours with characters and storylines who put you to sleep..... thankfully.

Imagine if someone dressed and looking like Vera actually went into the scene of a crime, the police would think the local mad old lady hasnt taken her daily meds!

they seem unable to get it right as you got vera on one hand with a samanta janus on the other. always thought that being with jill gascoign on surveilance in a granada on nights would have been my ideal job wish years ago.

Police Woman Angie Dickenson could show her a trick or two, i remember her slamming Benny from Crossroads to the floor with relative ease.

If it was set in the North-East the actors would still be from Manchester, like in George Gently, Vera and the rest. 30 years of revenge for Phil Middlemiss getting a part on Corry.

See they got it almost half-right with the Seaton canoe thing that's coming on ITV. The lass playing Anne Darwin is from the Boro (close, no cigar) but John is played by a Cockney! Ah well, at least Eddie Marsan is a top notch actor.
