Not the end of the world and a very strenuous few months we have had - always knew the run of cup games was going to have its impact on our small team eventually, but the funds created by such runs ill take the odd defeat off the back off it. Will stand us in alot better stead for next season, plus we would of more than likely finished in the same part of the table regardless. We are and always will be one of the better and bigger clubs in this league.

A not so glorious defeat was always on the cards with the changes we are having to make - plus some tired legs on display. Had Morris been fit and we maybe had a Fela to call on from the bench then i think we would of won that last night or given a 1-1 draw.

Anyways like Snowy rightly said... onto next season now. Finish strong and look to build on and see who stays and goes.

Id like to think Newcastle and Boro can give us more loan players for next season and if not White again for the full campaign. He is definitely a nice to have player and will only get better !

I think going off last night we all know who need to work harder and earn their new contract and those who need to work harder for places in the side next season.

Newport Friday could be a potential spanking if we dont set up right and hopefully have our best 11 fully fit. Will we ever see Bilo get a game and Hull potentially more time on the pitch ? who knows but i think Grey and Sterry require some rest as last night wasnt either of their best in a Pools shirt.

agree about grey as i still think he is better coming off the bench to impact the game more. think sterry can be allowed last night as his nightmare of the season. if pools get a pasting on friday i do hope the majority of fans will stick to the side even after the last two home games. All fans are fickle especially if their dreams are taken away from them. Words like pools have done better than we thought will fall on some deaf ears.

I thought he was due back 2 weeks ago, maybe had a setback. Only played 77 games in his career so looks like injuries keep holding him back.

Think we just need to make sure things don't just fall apart now, signs don't look good for Newport but if we can get back to how we were for last games at home, keep the support and hopefully sign a couple of quality players in the summer, who can't go back to their clubs if they have 3 or 4 good games, then jobs done for this year.

Everything points to a defeat, but football has a funny way of turning things on their head...
That said, I’d like to see the experimentation start now for next season, the play offs are out of reach in reality, so let’s give things a shake up, even for the first half of a game.

Morris is one of those unfortunate victims of modern football. Tipped for greatness whilst at Boro. Many led to believe he would be the one that comes along every so often from their academy and makes it to the Prem (with or without Boro). He was a mainstay in the England setup for his age category and became captain. Yet again a player who had he had his day without Injuries would probably be in the championship now if not on loan from a prem club. He is the type of player we need for next season in the middle of the park, shame as i think hes cut from the same cloth as Williams (very talented just injury prone).

Hopefully we see him again before the last game of the season. Even as a Sub he brings something to the team which the others dont for me.

totaly agree with changing it a little now - maybe go 4-4-2 and see how Bogle can play with another front man such as Carver or Grey - Get Mols on the wing. ZFA back in the side too.

yes, picking up injuries that unlike a few years ago were not as prevelant as they are now. then it was mainly a contact injury. teams then still played 46 league games, had the FA and League cups with replays, got players kicked every game with little help from referees, but somehow a few managed to play in every game of the season. if not in the side they were either injured or out of form. being rested never came into it. tell somebody they are tired or look tired and guess what they,ll think they are.

'Gav Holohan reported a minor calf injury yesterday morning and said he wouldn’t be fit.'
Little sceptical about this but have I no idea what is going on.

Sounds a bit dodgy.
Thought the medical staff would have to confirm how minor or bad an injury is.
Anyhow enjoyed the Irish Midfielder song while it lasted. sctatchinghead

just maybe ....gav is upset that hendrie and cullen have been given favours... and allowed to leave...but hes been told no ....even though he has also been told he wont be offered an extension to his contract in the summer...understand his point of view to some extent tbh.....but feigning injury would be below the belt...

You would think that Gav would want to play in order to put himself in the shop window if he is being released or even to prove he is worth keeping. But yes, as someone has already said, it is hard to work out what is going on with him.

oz....maybe he has a non league club already lined up.... like his mate cullen did.....and he could be playing every week till the end of the season...maybe that club have asked to take him on loan....like fela with yeovil ....but they have been told no....just a thought....but like i say feigning injury would be below the belt...although he wouldn't be the first to pull a sickie to let his employer know the score ;)

Think you have a good chance of a career in fortune telling after that. At this stage of the season a number of out of contract players have made verbal agreements on where they will be next season. Surely his injury would have come to light when he trained last but who knows.

To be fair, he’s contracted to us for our convenience, not his and if the manager wants to hang on to him so be it. Accommodate players if possible by all means, but we come first.
Who’s to say the ‘problem’s’ at the club’s end?

I follow the lad on social media and he spends alot of his time over the North West - hes recently just purchased a house too, god knows where but that also could be either in said West part of the country or his Home land. Depending where he lays his hat this could be the defining factor. Few players have sometimes met their partners and pushed for a move to where they are (made it work more for them so to speak). Weird one like but a suppose time will tell.

hes not in Spikes future plans and i wish the lad all the best (aslong as he doesnt go to Stockport). Just hope he gets a good send off at the Vic one last time and the fans can chant his tune !!!!

A Hartlepool United steward has suffered serious injuries after being assaulted at the Bradford City match.

Bradford City AFC is investigating disturbances at the Suit Direct Stadium on Tuesday night.

Three men have been arrested, including a 29-year-old on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Hartlepool United said three security staff were injured in the away end of the stadium and all needed medical attention.

and thats when they won the game. just imagine if pools had come back to equalise and got a last kick of the game penalty which we thought was harsh how the morons would have acted then.

Fans threw concrete and glass bottles at police during the Hartlepool v Bradford City game and some had sticks with nails in them, it has emerged.

Cleveland Police said violence which erupted from both sets of supporters before, during and after the game at Victoria Park was "unacceptable".

that makes carlisle fans look like sunday school kids on their outing. wonder if it was pre arranged by some yorkshire nutter and not annoyed because they won the game. one thing is that any weapons used would not have been paid for. tight fisted violent shithouses.
