£169.9 a litre of diesel as I passed last night, yet only £146.9 at Sainsbury's in Bishop, now that's 23p a litre difference, that's a huge amount. Where's me bike?

well fuel has gone up about a third since the season started. costs me over a fiver more coming up to the vic now. time we try to use our cars less and when using them make every attempt to use any tips available for your vehicle to get the best mpg as possible. doubt prices will ever fall as low as they were as they never do. its up to everyone to make demand less and shop around for the best offers without going out of your way.

Just put a full new exhaust system on my car, fuel consumption dropped dramatically, so something to be thankful for.

When I passed my test and got a mini, I could get 4 gallons for a pound and quadruple green shield stamps. That was 1967 though!

The Yanks are complaining because they have to pay $4 a gallon instead of $2?... so roughly £5.20 for 8 litres or 65p a litre
Why are we paying VAT on petrol when we are already paying tax on it? Rip off time or what?

imagine that the car lobby is much stronger in the usa than over here where motoring is still thought by some as a luxury and not a real necessity as it is for many. its not like it was in 1967 when you could get the train or a bus to anywhere in the country with a direct service or changing once.

Got to be honest I free wheel/coast a lot in my car, especially coming up to roundabouts and junctions, you see drivers belting towards these obstacles and hammering their brakes on I just don't understand it, all to get to their destination a couple of minutes earlier, the fuel you save is astounding, oh and it's supposedly illegal, never been sure why tbh.

something else that ruins your mpg carrying all the excess weight in your tank unless you are going to need the fuel for a long journey.

A mechanic in the bus depot told me that about ten years ago...I never put more than £20 in and only fill it up of going on a long journey
