Is that the benchmark......? There’s a character from Private Eye called Glenda Slag, a journalist whose column has two opposite versions of exactly the same story, one critical and one supportive. Does she post on here?

Billingham were do you get the figure 140K from for the young goalie? Never seen anywhere the amount we received.

Better putting the "excess" into next season's budget, so that the players released by clubs in the leagues above us are available for free instead of splashing the cash mid season on players that require a fee. It leaves more money for wages and therefore better quality, on paper of course. The squad we've got now is good enough for the time being.
Slowly but surely gentlemen.
Consider how far we have come in such a short space of time.

Will be loads of decent out of contract players in June. Surely money in the pot to negotiate a few quality signings.

That's the general idea.

Lee has brought in 2 players who couldn't get much of a game under Challinor (Odusina, Crawford) and they've looked 2 of our best players. Both 22 years old too.
Interesting that he's not playing Francis-Angol much who looked very good at the start of the year. I know he played under Challinor before at Fylde so I'm surprised Stockport haven't made a move for him as he's an excellent player at that level.

Maybe Challinor’s 9,000 acre Stockport storage facility is already full of unused players.

Rumour has it DC asked for a Post apocalyptic freeze chamber warehouse (imagine the Demolition Man, the thing Stallone was unfrozen from). Hes filled it already with Fylde youth players and ex Pools Stewards. Chandys on 24hr protected watch to assure his services arnt comprised by the DC regime...

anyways on a serious Note... we need to be hoping a certain Mr Morris' Loan to Buy clause is activated in the summer and more of these sorts of little gems are picked up. No body absolutely no body can be critical now of our recruitment - wether that be Spike or Mr Turnbull steering that ship we are in definite safe hands as shown in the window just gone.

Rumours have it all available players of talent are being bought or abducted to be frozen in a deeeeeeeep freeeeeeze facility in suburbs of Stockport, to cover the club for the next 100 years. When the season starts a batch are brought out and defrosted in the close season on a giant window sill.
They got the idea from Darlo allegedly when they pioneered the scheme during their glory years at the Arena.... sadly they cocked up by just freezing the heads to save money.
Is it true Stockport have been enquiring after Billy the Fish?

Challinor was never ’popped at’ for his role as a manager, rather his actions off the pitch, let’s seperate the two.

but really you cannot separate the two because its part of the same package.. When thinking or talking about the bloke it comes down to which and what he should be remembered for. The manager who started to put pools back on the map or some money grabber that could not wait to jump ship. Like many lower division clubs the talk is usually about a sacked manager rather than those who leave for another club that unlike challinor are ones in a higher league. Think if had gone to say wigan i doubt his leaving would have stirred things up as much.

What I remember is that Raj appointed an out of work manager and he delivered what Raj paid him for and, at that point to most fans, he could walk on water. Negotiations then started in an effort to keep DC in the position to consolidate Raj's plan and to take it forward. After prolonged negotiations a deal was struck to keep DC in charge on a three year contract. Everyone was happy. A few weeks into the deal DC was gone. It was plain to me that DC had been in negotiations, ( secret negotiations if you like) to go to the land where the streets were paved with pieces of silver, for an unknown period of time. It could be feasible that DC had been negotiating with both clubs at the same time.....who knows?? That's when my appreciation of DC started to wane, so I definitely separate the two phases. DC was a good appointment and did a good job and there is no pop at him from me on that fact. What happened subsequently is what soured my taste
It is early doors yet but Raj is appearing to have pulled off another master stroke in replacing DC. Time will tell but the common denominator is Raj and that is as plain as day to me. That is also worth remembering.
I am only speaking for myself and not associating with or against other thoughts on the matter.

Of course you can separate the two, if for example you were a great painter with a dodgy private life, you’d still be a great painter.
All Challinor had to be was open about things, because he was going anyway regardless, then he would probably have got a lot less flak, we all realise it’s pointless hanging on to players or mangers who want to be away.
But why was it was done the way it was is a mystery to me.

From the horses mouth so to speak. Sell on clause apparently if sold within 5 years.
