Not only did they subsidise our travel costs to the FA Cup game they signed Derby Countys striker Luke Plange yesterday but they loaned him straight back to Derby for the rest of the season to try to get them to stay in the leauge. Not all Premier Leauge clubs are all about greed. Pity thay we are going to knock them out of the cup on Saturday. UTP

problem with the premier league is that no one thinks of the crystal palace, burnley and sothamptons of that world but the clubs at the top that get the most publicity.

I'm not sure Pools releasing Lawlor so he could join Darlo is the same level of altruism as Palace letting Plange go back to Derby after paying a lot of money for him

Palace are one of the teams that cannot win the Premiership, cannot qualify for European completions and are not in danger of relegation. So what is their objective for the rest of the season?

It is to win a cup and Pools stand in their way so an upset would be remarkable!

You're right in what you say, but every year clubs whose only hope of winning something is a cup. But year after year, clubs like Palace put out a team full of kids & the reserves & get turned over by a lower league team, it's unlikely I agree but maybe this year its Pools turn to be the giantkillers!!

Everything then rides on this game for them.
Let's hope they bottle it.

Morning all , palace fan here.
One thing Patrick has done is realise that , as you say, a cup run/win is the only realistic chance of us winning something. He will put out a very strong side and show you respect, as he should do.
I’m really looking forward to the day it’s what the fa cup should be about.

Another Palace fan here. I agree PV seems to be of the mindset that success breeds success, so, at last our club seems to be taking the Cup seriously. We will be without Zaha and Kouyate ( playing for Senegal) but I think we will put out a strong team, although we are playing Norwich on Wednesday.
Hope you all have a great day, atmosphere should be fantastic. Let’s hope no issues between fans, unfortunately we do have some idiots but haven’t seen trouble at Selhurst for years.
For those going, I know a bit late , but eat outside the ground, food is poor and expensive inside. Facilities in AW stand are not PL standard by any stretch.
Enjoy though

And the Club have made a contribution to Graeme Lee's wife, Gemma, appeal for funds towards her treatment. (As have I)

However I'm pleased that so far (half time) our generosity has not extended on to the pitch.
But with Palace anything can happen.........and probably will.

I have no idea who gave the £12000 but we have a major shareholder John Textor who is based in the US, he loves football and has been known to contribute to good causes, if I had to guess I would say him but whoever, hope it does some good

Consensus here, certainly amongst fan base is that the £12000 came from the players. Shame media don’t seem that interested, still if it was Utd or Liverpool, your club would be on the front pages!

Had two brother mates who where big Palace supporters in the 70/80/90s and I used to go in the main Palace end.
The chant to the Sunderland supporters was " there's only one job between you, one job between you".........I pissed myself laughing.
I for some reason shouted " Howay Palace " that attracted a few looks.

We may have ended up on the front page, but we would never have been able
To create the bond forged this weekend between our clubs, long may it continue
And grow.

And we still have a club to support in the FA Cup, All the best goiong forward.

I think the Ostrich in the top banner of the Bunker should be replaced by a Mighty Eagle in support of our new friends Palace :)

Maybe a few could try it to see if it catches on.
It would be great to hear it on the tv especially against Newcastle

Why not go full whack......?
‘Howay the lads, Howay the lads, howaaaaay, Cor blimey’.

I stuck the ‘Cor blimey’ in because because most Geordies think folk in London are either city gents or Pearly Kings and Queens belting out ‘The Lambeth Walk’ on a loop.

Not sure how successful this will be but some Palace fans (on the forum bbs), have suggested they keep the just giving page going for Gemma until the semi final.
Fingers crossed, then hopefully it can be kept going until May 14th!

No matter what you do and even if the just giving page is stopped today your fans have done something they never needed to do in the first place. Think the whole poolie family are grateful for your actions over this. It will not be forgotton.

We are all passionate about our club's but we know and recognise when something more important comes along. I have mates in south london who I have never met but who I respect without reservation and they all come under one roof, one banner and one name..... Crystal Palace.
What they have done so far and the compassion they have shown is wonderful and it doesn't surprise me that they are discussing keeping it going.
Both of our clubs and us the fans must never let the one thing that has grown between us and hopefully will never die and that can be summed up in one word........Friendship.
UTP(both of us).

Good Afternoon Everyone hope you are all keeping well. Have just secured my Wembley ticket. We have an allocation of 34000, first phase today for season ticket holders and their kids,if they have a membership. We have sold nearly 16000 already.
Little chance of us beating Chelsea, well on the pitch. Off the pitch our support will be superb. Palace fans always try to do a display at Wembley and have collected £8000. So thousands of balloons as well.
Am looking forward to it, apart from having to share public transport with their fans. Why are the FA so ridiculous, putting these games on at Easter? Travelling up from Sussex and no trains into Victoria so London Bridge will be fun!
All the very best for the rest of the season and am looking forward to seeing this years fancy dress

You stand every chance of beating Chelsea, who are they after all, just a bunch of contractors without a owner....... Don’t go into any game thinking you’re gonna get beaten, be up for it, they’re not bleeding gods, they’re just a football team thrown out onto the street for now, so just think of them as homeless in the football sense at times like this, poor things .... and spare them some money for a warm drink, gets cold under the arches at night. Are they classed as being employed on a Government scheme for now?

its just a matter of time before all hell breaks out because of the FA having stupid days or kick off times for these games to help the tele companies schedules. One day the two birminham clubs will be drawn together, two north east ones or leeds playing anyone from the north west and it will be mayhem in london that night.

Today we have Chelsea playing Brentford and QPR playing it doesn’t take Einstein to work out possibility of trouble which had already started before kick off. The authorities really don’t give a s***, surprised the police allow it ( on second thoughts :-D )

Palace should definitely take heart from this weekend results with Brentford thrashing a demoralised Chelsea 4-1 on their own patch then how you destroyed Arsenal 3-0 on Monday. So best of luck in your semi and keep the faith and you will be feeling glad all over.

Arsenal had 69% of possession and were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Palace.
Teams would be better off adopting a style of play that suits their players rather than making players fit a style of play for which they are unequipped.
Trying to imitate Man City and Liverpool without the likes of Salah or Sterling to finish is a flawed strategy.

Well off to Wembley tomorrow. Can’t see us winning but you never know. Going to enjoy the day whatever.
If any of you are going to watch, look out for the Palace display. 33000 balloons purchased together with an original display

Beating Chelsea would give me a nice warm glow, just like the Ready Brek advert.
I really am starting the despise the ‘Gods’ in the top six who thing the rest of the Premiership is a support act for their glory. Gits!

It would be a good day for football in general if Palace. I'm like quite a few now find it very hard to stomach any of the top clubs.

with you there, however if they do win they,ll end up as the supporting act to the red scouse in the final. bad enough with the perma hard done to scousers in the final without sodding chelsea joining them. be like the umteeth re make of some film to watch over and over again.

Well sorry lads, just wasn’t to be. At least we showed how to support your team. The Chelsea scum were silent until they scored. After the game a Palace female fan and her son were racially abused and she suffered a fractured cheek bone but hey, they are a top club!
Palace fans had paid for thousands of balloons, a tradition when we go to Wembley. These were confiscated on health and safety grounds! and one fan was issued with £100 fine for handing them out on Wembley Way, on the basis of illegal trading, he was given them out free of charge.
Another example of the fun being taken out of football.
Still had a good day. All the best for the rest of season, we have to go to Newcastle on Wednesday

The Cup final will be avoidable this year. Two o& the ‘top six’ elite getting the sports meeeeeja aroused and excited and their ‘fans’, proxy ‘fans’ and big screen at the pub ‘I’ve got the shirt fans’ can salivate over it, I’d rather blow torch my eye balls.
It’s gonna be a clash like a very expensive Xmas pudding…..very rich, very hard to swallow and very stodgy…….. with that self proclaimed luxury football on view, a cloying, over hyped, bore fest of a match is guaranteed.

doubt anything would have happened if fans of a couple of north west clubs who play in red had done the same. we,d have had the real magic of the cup shoved down our throats by the commontators. if fans did not make their own fun then there would not be much left on matchdays. pay up, sit down and shut up and then walk 30 minutes back to your car at some grounds and if you are lucky you may avoid a parking fine.

Now if they’d been FA approved hand crafted balloons made from sustainable latex on sale at £56.99 for a pack of three, would they have been acceptable.

You are probably correct. If they can charge £11.50 for chicken dippers and chips anything is possible!
One steward advised that they were bursting the balloons as they could conceal weapons. They really are a joke

That really is contradictory bollocks on the stewards part. Imagine the conversation….

Security chief……. ‘ Balloons are potential weapons if we aren’t selling them, they represent a murderous attack on our profits!!!!’

Steward…….’ So if anyone brings anything in we have to stamp hard on them and burst them…..?’

Security chief……’Correct’.

Steward ……..”Er…. but what If it explodes violently after we stand on it?”

Security chief…..’Proves I was right all dunnit!’.

Stewards….” But that’s like tap dancing in a minefield!”

Security chief……………Door flaps in wind……….
