Not sure where Scottish League 2 football sits in the level spectrum anymore but he managed 92 goals in 142 appearances for Clyde. Very good effort that. Can remember him touted as the next big Scottish talent when Blackburn gambled on him.

possibly the sponsor got more publicity he ever got with raith rovers by doing that. wasn,t gordon brown one of their fans once. surely with a name like goodwillie he,d be better served on going to the just only fans website,

I see Raith have decided to not play him.

Thinking of it, he'd be an unreal signing for someone like Harrogate, Forest Green, Fylde, Fleetwood, Boreham Wood or even MK Dons. A club with no fans so they wouldn't have anything to lose.

Whilst not wishing to minimise Goodwillie's wrongdoing, he does not have criminal record.
He was not found guilty in a criminal court in which 'beyond reasonable doubt' is the level needed to be found guilty. He was found guilty in a civil court in which guilt is determined 'on the balance of probabilities'. So if the evidence suggests that ones guilt is 51% or more, then the case is proved. That he was tried in a civil court and fined, suggests that the case against was not strong enough for a criminal court.

It looks like Greenwood is heading for the criminal court!

Greenwood's case is still being investigated by the police. The Giggs trial was postponed because of a court backlog. The civil case against Ronaldo hasn't come to trial yet either. The Ronaldo business is an odd one because he settled out of court in 2009 - for under 400 grand, but now that the lady concerned is after £56 million he's defending it!

Our justice system is based on the principle that you are innocent until proved guilty. Sunderland were forced to 'stand by' the toe-rag Adam Johnson till he was actually convicted. If a club sacked a player before the outcome of his trial was known and he ended up being acquitted he could sue for a ton of money - especially with one of the richest clubs in the world.

Not sure what you mean by Man U 'standing by' Giggs? He's not worked for them since 2016.

but when its football related so many fans have found them guilty before the trial and have thrown away the keys if they dislike the player or club. if they do get found not guilty it will because they have bought their innocence with a much better legal team or mistakes in law from the CPS.
