Is this due to away supporters abusing the seats or are they in need of replacing due to general wear and tear.
I get the impression that there is a sizeable refurbishment programme needed at the Vic and this is just part of it. Very little maintenance appears to have taken place since IOR sold the club.
I suppose the regeneration of the area which the club and council are in discussions over is part of the solution, I just wish they would get on with it before it becomes a virtual rebuild.
Realistically we need a new stand at the Rink End and plans were drawn up for that during Russ Green's days at the club.

Also something that annoys the hell out of me and a few others is the fact they have given the front of the main building (s) on Clarence road a lick of paint an some fancy murals etc, plus signage and new lighting. However The players entrance gate plus the other main gates etc are in dire need of some sanding an painting also. The white fencing and posts are knackered and the general feel of the turnstiles and signage are all crap. We went to the extent of cleaning the place up but left gaps. Just looks so unprofessional.

Then last night what made me laugh was... there was a guy ripping the 'Home Supporters' sign from above the town end turnstile entrance on Clarence Road as a load of Bolton fans were left stood thinking what the hells going on. For one that signage needs to stay as post Blackpool league games are back to normal aint they ? then secondly why wouldnt we have just printed off a sign saying Bolton Away Fans or even just masked the signage rather than tearing it off.

Also id happily Volunteer with some of my younger lads from my team to come this summer and help the HUST slap some white and blue paint across the place.

On the other hand, it's just possible that the club have a programme of works and will get to some of the things that have been mentioned in due course. Tarting up the Clarence Road frontage was an obvious priority in connection with the Suits Direct sponsorship.

However lax things have been in the past, Hobin doesn't come across as an idiot or a time server.

Hope so. Just odd that they couldnt stretch another 2 foot and continue with the nice new blue cladding and other bits they painted.

agree Hobin has impressed so far and im sure we will see plenty more from him in the coming months

Maybe we just don't want to spend money on the ground till we know exactly what's happening, they said the new year they will have things to announce.

I went to a Millhouse Master Plan meeting with the club,Gus Robinson, the bowls club & saw the plans.
It all looked very nice, but utter pie the sky,I'm still doubtful that the latest incarnation will actually happen.

are you able to elaborate on those plans or was it all hush hush. I even mean in the lightest of sense... i.e are we getting a new 20,000 seat white elephant with a premier Inn incorporated into the rink end or basically a new leisure center and a new rink end with possible upgrades to the Neale Cooper stand ? plus flats... lots of flats

Raj has mentioned a 15000 all seater stadium, probobly never happen but a 3000 to 4000 rink end and the Millhouse refurbished wouldn't go amiss.

We're about to be bought by a Middle Eastern conglomerate..................

Egyptians.

So we're months away from a 25,000 seater stadium and Trippier on loan from NewSaudiCastle.

Yep, this is bollox - but so is all this stuff about stadium and squad improvements. I hope that I'm wrong, but I see nothing happening...........

And I hated the Rink End back in the glory days of the seventies and early eighties.

It was an open meeting in the Russ Green era,but I was shown the plans on the sly, very impressive.
New Rink End stand,with Hotel,
but the main development was around the ground.
Mill House pub, & Centre was to be flattened & replaced by a 3 storey building incorporating new bowls club, gym & pool.
The Odeon turned into student flats.
New housing on the waste land behind the Rink End.
The representative from the developer said it would cost £5 million.
When asked where the money was coming from, everybody just looked at each other & no one had an answer.
It was a dead duck from the beginning & a complete waste of peoples time.

only when the bulldozers arrive and the first brick is put down is the time i,ll believe anything will happen at the vic. you could write a book about pie in the sky ground developments at football grounds that just never got going. anyway anything much above a 10,000 capacity at the vic would be a real waste of money and the place would lose its atmosphere.

That’s going back a bit, as far as I’m aware that plan crashed and burned shortly after take off.

so in reality the Millhouse leisure center will get another lick of paint and life expansion maintenance to see it to 2030 and beyond.

the land where the rink used to be will get tarmac slapped ontop of it and left with a no parking sign on matchdays planted right bang in the middle of it.

probs see some flats go on the far car park bit adjacent to the mill house pub at best and even then they will look utter crap and be for students only.

council gets more bonus' brown envelopes and pats on the back. Aww then the council tax goes up.

In my view these developments are just a red herring to keep the gullible punters like me on side.
Need to see cast iron contracts and holes in ground (but not like those on the "road" behind the Mill House stand)

Id say 10 to 11000 would be bang on with plans to accomodate the maximum amount of Away fans when needed.
Need to get thru these next 2 windows with ambition before i get excited about a better stadium.

It's taken two years to sign a bit of paper, for us to basically talk about redevelopment for another 2 years, when raj goes those plans will once again be shelved.

The Mill House won’t last that long. Supposed to be going down the Marina last I heard.

It was & did.
These latest ideas are just revamped version.
There's never any progression in the Town, apart from new housing going up.

I don't get this either, seems all of a sudden this has happened, I also don't understand giving away clubs access to other parts of the ground ...under FA rules? Surely it's a safety issue, and not the clubs fault.. what happens if we draw Liverpool or the likes...do we go e them the whole ground.

We're only obliged to allocate the FA's minimum requirement, so nobody would be given the Whole ground.

Are. You still allowed to swap home tie if you did draw a club like Liverpool etc? For the payday it would give.

I don't think so but I think you should be allowed the choice.

think you can still move the tie to another ground but not the away clubs one. just state safety reasons and they,ll tick it off.
