Absolute quality ! The moral of this tale ?
Don't post when you're thoroughly pissed off after a defeat & don't over indulge on Cameron's !

was it all ticket with no sales on the day. think there was a sell out for the local ameteur thespians at the theatre though which would affected the gate with 2 pantomimes on the same night.

To be fair, Bolton huffed and puffed in the second half but only made one decent chance - the one Killip blocked with his legs. Well done the Reserves!

but until featherstone came on we didn,t find a pools shirt in the second half. without that cock up i doubt we,d have scored but defended well and the lads deserved their slice of luck.

I don't think that Bolton fan enjoyed his evening somehow.

It was heading for penalties, which we'd still have had a 50:50 chance of winning.

As Boydie said on the commentary, there were too many misplaced passes from Smith in the second half. Graeme Lee always seems to leave his substitutions very late - was the same against Oldham.

it isn,t just Lee but something that has crept into the modern game with what seems like an age is taken from the time they want to do a substitution till it actually happens. how many instructions can a player take on board anyway before they come on. hopefully they have watched the game anyway and see how its panning out.

Great rant.
I think we have a few very similar in the Mill House area.

I presume Lee was trying to make late substitutions to save the lads for Saturday? I don't actually feel we played that well after a great first 10 minutes, second half though we defended really well and they ran out of options, I'm not sure we could get away playing that style against Blackpool. Let's hope we avoid the Wigans and Rotherhams next round.

No, the Bolton lad actually talked a lot of sense in amongst the expletives.
Gobbing off at a pass sideways or back when the alternative is an aimless hoof towards a 5 foot 8 inch lad in a blue and white shirt marked by somebody who is 6 foot 2 isn't sense.

TO THE SAN MARINO 1 NILLL !!!!!!

Absolutely over the moon with that ! Sat/Stood and froze my balls off for what i thought was going to be a hard hard night for Pools.
Their new Wing back Fossey was causing alsorts of problems from the outset and i thought here we go, young whippet gunna tear us a new one but fair play to young Jones who seemed to deal with him for most the game. I thought playing a left sided player on the right was gunna bugger us aswell but thankfully it didnt - whats up with Ogle ? Again Afolayan wasnt at his best thankfully and didnt really do much.

I think for those who watched the full match - i take my hat off to Fela and Tom Crawford, both didnt put a foot wrong all match. Fela actually cleared off the line at one point - how he got there i dont know but the rest of his game was superb ! Crawfs as others have mentoned was fantastic aswell, Calm and composed on the ball and didnt give many balls away.

Smith on the other hand should of been dragged at half time - very very poor performance by him. Shows his lack of match sharpness. Woeful passing - taking too much time on the ball - silly mistakes which shouldnt be made at this level - especially against L1 opponents. Glad Boydy picked up on in too and it wasnt just me moaning in the ear of my fellow supporters.

credit to Mols aswell worked his socks off and did some good hold up play. Thought we should have been 1-0 up in the first half so was very very well deserved that dodgy mistake to gift us the goal. Up the feckin POOLS !

plus fela as you mentioned and jones.where all three were playing out of their favoured positions against good players and put real shifts in.

Smith was poor to the point where one of his mistakes could have cost us a goal & the game. You can't hand possession back to a team in a higher division as easily as he did.

Crawford was very good. Eddy Jones also played well. Fela grafted - still think his first touch is poor & for all the work - I can't see him scoring many.

Second half we were giving them the ball back fairly willingly & they were playing all the football. Bolton are actually in a torrid bit of form so we perhaps could have taken the game to them a spot more but a brilliant result regardless.

We'll need to be a bit braver on Saturday (at full strength) I think...

Smith gave the ball away cheaply about 3 times in the second half - every time was fault of his own for either taking too long / too many touches and the last one as you say he basically has time on the ball (which was rare in that game in the center) sort of looked round and hurled the ball across park to their forward player - could of been costly. Cant be doing that at all when Blackpool visit.

Nothing to fear though should we play like that again saturday and maybe make the earlier subs - having Ogle or dare i say it Hendrie playing right back might just aid aswell.

think eddie kyle mentioned smith when the fans gave some other player a bit of stick for a mistake saying about his wayward passes not being picked up as quickly bt some of the crowd.

Neither are fully fit, which is why Jones was played out of position:

Fair enough if Stoke decide not to renew Eddy Jones' loan with Pools - he's not going to get in the side ahead of Ferguson and Francis-Angol is a good back up.

my guess would be.... if lee is looking to extend jones stay on loan ....then one of our full backs could be on his way this month.....sterry... ferguson... francis-angol ....or ogle....take your pick.... sctatchinghead

My Guess out of any of those players to realistically make a move would be Fergy or Sterry / Both to DCs Shiteport.

Sterry as a match for match backup to SH

Ferguson for replacement of Kitching if he still is their starting LWB ? other again a decent standby for their starting LB.
