Anyone know anything more than i do about the guy. Seen him on a few darlo highlights and looks a decent prospect who can look after himself. Seems stockport fans have noticed him as well.

He is being linked with loads of clubs so I think it's fair to say we can forget about him.

Will end up at a NL team and perform pretty well, then probs get a move to a Harrogate or Motherwell. We are then left scratching our heads as to why we have missed out on some good local talent.

Too good for our level. If you can afford him then he’s worth a punt. Mind you there’s a few clubs showing interest so that should bump the price up. He’s a better footballer and goal scorer than Harvey Saunders and we got £100k for him in the end.

I think that means he is probobly 100k out of our price range then. I think I'd be going for longstaff at Gateshead.

Only ‘linked’ till someone actually takes the plunge and makes an offer.

They want Jake Lawlor from us so why not offer them a straight swap and throw in a couple of the others that are not good enough for our level. Surely these are the sort of players that Nelson should be high lighting having managed at that level.

You could have the solution there Mr Essex.

Surely Sterry must have played with him at Newcastle so check him out and use the old boys network he has said he wants full time football again.

he certainly has as long as our players would prepare to drop down 2 divisions to play for darlo. however thats the level for fondop, hendrie and lawlor.

exactly that - give them Lawlor and a loan player(s). So many decent players playing at that level should Pools give them a chance.

Again Langstaff would be the one we should be after and should have taken him in the summer (sure we had him on trial at some point).

its a big gamble though. a lot depends on how hungry they are to push their careers on. suppose its no worse than some dead leg would be who is only signing to prelong his league career 18 months till they have to get a proper job.

Yes i would rather have a 24 year old whos on the cusp of cementing a career in full time football than some 32/33 yr old journeyman looking to make Pools his last pay day. There is also deadwood dripping down from L1 etc which i also wouldnt take over a hungry none league striker, we have been bitten with that one unfortunately too many times and as recently as this season with the mighty Fondop.

I know the likes of Muir, Fenwick , Ofosu etc didnt make the cut coming upto this level but surely the law of averages are on our side and we are due a Jamie Vardy out of all of this.

A non league club tried to pick him up last season but Armstrong said no. He (Armstrong) believes that Charman is ready for league football and is holding out for the right offer to turn up.

dare say the said NL club was probably us or a Halifax - probs offered pennies. Would it have been Stockshit or Wrectum then more money would have been offered and i doubt that excuse would have been used and off he would off f**ked

Doubt we'd have needed him with Oates and Armstrong up front. Nor would Stockport or Wrexham.

Perhaps a smaller side like Altrincham or maybe even a larger NL North club like York.

If Pools should be looking at any club it should be Gateshead. No doubt Barrow, Carlisle, Harrogate, Spennymoor, Darlo and of course Motherwell will be doing the same.

there is a maximum that any club will pay for a NLN player anyway. think even vardy went for well under 100 grand and there has been no one like him since.

Surely Charman and Langstaff could be picked up under the prize money we have from the pizza cup.

if not id be asking our friends Harrogate to see if they want to sell us the forgotten about local Mark Beck. 6ft 5" Striker plying his trade on loan at York. still only 27 aswell.

It was Notts County who made a bid for Charman earlier this year. Apparently the player fancied the move but it was way below what he was valued at back then. He value has only increased since.
As for Mark Beck, very good target man but he would be one that divides the fans. Most of the Darlo fans rated him but the usual suspects picked on him for the same old reasons they find to target a player.
I doubt Harrogate would be loaning him out if they thought he was good enough for regular league football.

Would Beck be any better than Mr Fondop ? or have you not seen much of the big fella ?

agree the fact hes been at Harrogate a while now yet still finds his way into a NLN side on loan does speak for itself. Plus I think we would have to buy him rather than Harrogate do the recall and then resend him on loan to us now that we are in the same league.

Saw Beck at York against Morpeth. Not overly impressed. Think we need a more robust individual.

Every time I've seen Mike Fondop I've been underwhelmed. He's slower than a carthorse and not that useful in the air either.

I'm baffled by Alex Chandy's attempt to build him up as some sort of cult figure, unless it's completely tongue in cheek. Then again, this time last season Chandy and his mates hadn't given up on the idea that Claudio Ofosu was going to be a big player for Pools.

Im shocked Fondop is still here tbh - probably on contract till end of Jan surely ?

His cameo last night once again cemented my reasoning for having him in the top 50 worst all time Pools strikers. He absolutely blew his lungs to bits chasing down the last man. Then slowly jogged back this was after 5 mins of coming on may i add. The ball came back again 2 mins later well within his sprint reach and he didnt even move. His first 2 minutes holding the ball up and that shot on target i thought aww thats better that exactly what we want out of you. Then he died a death. Hopefully he isnt here past this transfer window.

I've always thought Beck looked a great link up player when I've seen him, he was unplayable on our last game down there and had our centre backs life. I was shocked he went on loan to York as he looked way better than that level

Was that the time Pools were managed by Richard Mooney? He made Telford look like 2000s AC Milan!

Well both. :-D

It will help the signing of potential new players to make sure that the deal is right for all concerned.

You're right. He was in charge. Christ, so many bad performances at that ground they all blend together.

Hopefully this year we'll finally break the hoodoo!

Besides Charman I read of interest in Carson,Roberts, Parke, non of whom look likely to come here. I just wished we could hear some positive news instead of players we are interested in but going elsewhere.

I'm sure someone somewhere is making stuff up, interested in Roberts? Really as if we are going to pull out 150 to 200 k. Bit like the nonsense we bid for the lad that went to Chesterfield, fans still convinced we bid 100k for him despite raj saying he held money back from Challinor.

Roberts is left sided and injury prone - very very good on his day but no better than what we already have in Mols.

if anything a right sided attacker would be much better - Tshimanga will no doubt end up in this league next season anyways either still at chesterfield or with another club in L2 hes on fire just now.

Rochdale ppfftttt - bad move on his behalf if true.

nothing else on the rumour mill front ?

Apparently a keeper and central defender we are after, which if true would be common sense from Lee, mind you I guess they have to be decent.

a CB is the replacement for Lidds - think we all know he hasnt got a full season left in him and he needs a strong like for like replacement if we are to stay in this league.

Bank the cheque and pick off another shining diamond from the north-east's top 3 i think is the plan mr accy..preferably a free transfer.
