Found is. It's on ESPN+ (US). If you've got IPTV you should be able to get it on the ESPN player.

Incidentally, the Bolton game is on ifollow.

IPTV novice but on mine you can just select Hartlepool United and it brings iFollow streams etc up. Or alternatively a section for U.K. Football so I’m hoping the Blackpool game will appear there?

cannot get excited by knock out competitions nowadays when you know you are not going to win them. was the same when i played local football. even the money pools have made already does not mean ot will go to where the fans want it to go.

can we at least hope that by saturday we have at least replaced one of the forward players we now miss.

never was a fan of Goodwin but id rather have an exra striker to bring on that none at all.

It's a home 3rd Round FA Cup tie! Blackpool won't have given up entirely on getting into a Championship play off place so will probably make some changes to their side.

Pools' League form has gone south in the last 2 months but they've shown plenty of times already this season that they can raise their game in a cup competition. A fair bit depends on what happens tonight, but we're not supposed to win against the likes of Bolton and Blackpool so what have us fans got to lose? UTP!

Its over 120k prize money available in these next two games plus a lot more revenue if we progress which will play a major part in the 2nd half of this Window.
Strange things happen in cup games thats why we still in 2 comps. Clinging to a bit of hope that we dont lose both of them.
UTP.

and what can we expect for 120k. for one decent player that would hardly pay his wage for a season even if we got him for free.

id like to think that anymore money coming our way due to our amazing cup runs was spent bringing in a really good Loan player from a prem club if nothing else. As your rightly make out a good striker these days will demand more than those figures yearly (thats without the goal bonus' etc).

In my opinion it is worth the gamble to make a decent offer for quality even if we have to cover his wages for six months if it goes a long way to preserving our league status and gives us breathing room in the summer to shape a better squad.
There must be an efficient striker somewhere who is warming the bench. We got Armstrong last Christmas. Find another one like him.
If I was that striker and watched a few Pools videos and saw the chances that go a begging I would walk to the Vic, barefoot over broken glass if necessary.

Surely we don't need the prize money on top for this for extra players, surely the wad pocketed in prize money already would do for Raj's coffers?

Is the prize money awarded on a rolling basis or as a club exits the competition??
There is one big word missing from the vocabulary of agents and that is "haste".
They'll keep touting their flock until the very last minute.

Only bother is we'll be languishing near the bottom of the league by the end of the month. We need fresh impetus now.

The fans with no ambition probably think its bullshit rumours.
But it come from the hierarchy at the club about 5 weeks ago that there is a very good budget for January.

See were we are 1st of Feb.

Totally agree mate. Problem is the ones who know that, like you and me, are reliant on others and included in the others are the likes of agents, players and clubs who are prepared to lend us any. This Lee Turnbull, and Graeme Lee should have been working their arses off since they were appointed. GL reckons he is doing just that but all we can do is wait, as usual.

This cup run money is very important to a club like ours, I would suggest it gives you the option of taking a player on a possible end of season loan with the included perk of paying a higher percentage of his wages also to the parent club, which then surely gives you that head start on other interested clubs who aren't prepared to make that offer.

would these two cup games be ideal to start Joel Grey? Needs experience and they are not a "must win" league game.

Grey has to be involved - even to start the game tonight and give them some hassle. The way in which Stockport broke them down needs to be looked at and we kind of mimic it tbh. Yes we dont have a Quigley but we do have some good footballers - id even like to see Crawford start as hes played very well in these cup games.

Bloody hell I hope not, he'll be 90 in April !
Can imagine he'd have a nice soft shoe shuffle, mind.

120k would almost get Armstrong for a season, but lets be honest we could probobly play Man Utd and we still wouldn't pay for someone like him, unless a club was willing to pay part of the wage.

The manager of our club at the time said we will lose players if were still in the conference for another season. We win the play offs and we still lost pretty much the lot. War chest of money I certainly don't believe that, it's to appease fans who are starting to ask questions.

you would like to think even if we offered half the wages for the loan - a 240k a year youngish player warming some Championship bench would be better than what we have just now. Although the game is buggered and likelihood is 120k a year gets us a 19yr old kid from Shrewsbury with zero senior appearances.

Cass was recalled by Newcastle, who wanted him to go to a club away from the North-East, and Armstrong was on loan to us from Salford. Johnson and Oates chose not to renew with Pools. As others have pointed out many times already, other League Two teams started their close season weeks before Pools knew what division they would be playing in and were able to tap up players while the club's hands were still tied.

Pools have the same chance as anyone else to sign players during the current transfer window. It the big talk comes to next to nothing we'll all know it was horseshit and will probably revise opinions on what happened in the summer too. 31st January is less than 4 weeks away now so how about giving it a rest till then?

Pools will likely do the same to some players next season you would hope - few shining stars of the 2 teams in the promotion playoff final we may be able to poach as our season comes to an end. Swings in roundabouts - Then who ever comes up next season will also feel the fate of the dogshite that is the structure and timing of the English lower league football system.

We got particularly shafted last season because of the covid restrictions and the fact the season was effectively put back into the summer. We would have a head start still but it wouldn't be the 6 weeks or so teams had on us last summer.

exactly. if we get beaten its the way we lose that matters most. a good performance should be used as a confidence booster in these important league games coming up. seems no point in beating blackpool after the bolton win if pools drop 6 points against bristol and stevenage.
