From the Millwall FC website:

GARY Rowett hasn’t ruled out Tyler Burey going back out on loan to Hartlepool United this month.

Burey, 20, returned to Millwall after his initial loan deal ended today.

Burey missed over three months of the season with a hamstring injury and only went back to the League Two side last week.

He played in games against Mansfield and Oldham before heading back to his parent club.

Millwall only had six players on their bench as the lost 3-2 to Bristol City on Sunday.

“With Tyler, because we have very limited numbers at the moment, we felt we had no alternative other than to bring him back,” Rowett explained.

“We would have liked to have kept him out on loan at Hartlepool because he showed really good development early on.

“We wanted to try to be fair to Hartlepool as well because they’ve had a player who’s not been available for large parts.

“If we’ve got enough bodies then potentially we’ll let him go back to Hartlepool on loan if they still want him.

“If not then we’ll keep him here and have another young attacking player as an option.”

As a general rule it is probably not a good idea to sign players will under the influence but I think Burey's signing is an exception.

Defintely welcome him back. Him and Another good striker upfront to hold the ball up etc would see us bang goals in. Ideally that duo would of seen us win both games over the festive period.

The big question for me is will we come out of this transfer window any stronger? or will we try to sell off one or two? Have very little faith in the current set up, for anything other than a disappointing transfer window.

Byrne is an interesting one for me. Gone very much under the radar but think he’s proven he’s a very decent central defender. Especially in a 5. As saleable assets go I’d say he’s right up there…

As for incomings - unless we sign anyone with a reputable name - it’ll be no more of a gamble than the crop signed in the summer.

its looking that way with regards to a similar transfer window as to what we just had - cant see any big name coming our way or any sort of notable U23 with a good rep (im thinking Coburn from Boro). Wilder is being an absolute dick if i may add aswell with the statement he made in the press about being a feeder club - we are not asking for that you little turnip, we just want use of the players you wont use and which may benefit a local team staying in the League, plus helping develop talent for the Boro.

Burey i wont hold my breath on coming back - Millwall are in the sh!t when it comes to squad depth and probs see him on their bench this week. if he has any sort of impact or dare i say it score a goal, he certainly wont be going far.

for me we need a box to box midfielder who can defend set pieces (someone to replace Feaths as im sorry but he looks well off the mark lately) - then a counterpart attacking midfielder who is better than Shelton.

Yet Millwall and their manager are showing a bit of class towards pools. We have probobly got Lee in as manager for one of the major reasons thinking we can then go sign Boro players, it helped us lose the league status last time we had that idea. So that idea has been totally blown out the water which makes making Lee as manager look even more ridiculous.

Yep ! totally agree with this - and yes fair play to Rowett. Good stuff said in the press from that article and others. At least we get first dibs on him should they release him back into the loan world.

The smartest thing the club can do now to keep the fans on their side - regardless if 2 or 3 Boro Loaness are lined up and training with the squad already, would be to announce (if any) a none Boro new signing first. Then hit us with the U23 Boro rejects whom we will be not stunned or shocked by. At least that wont be a total rubbing of salt into the wounds.

at our level there is rarely that much activity in january apart from loan players going back and fresh ones coming in. we have not got the financial clout to splash the cash on players that maybe available whose contracts run out in the summer. then do we want anymore sub standard lads that clubs also cannot wait to see the back of.

I see Goodwin has gone back to Stoke but what about the other Stoke lad, Jones, who is rarely seen or spoken about. The other thing which of the last minute signings we were told were short term?

yeh forgot about him tbh - do we need him ? whats up with ZFA ? he can comfortably play down that side and is very good IMO too !

something seems a miss with him tbh - wouldnt be surprised to see him follow DC again.

and played quite well out of position. doubt stoke would want him staying at pools with his lack of game time though.

Jones did very well last tonight but id rather ZFA take up that position down the left - he was again unreal last night and deserves his spot in the side

It wouldn't hurt to try Ferguson on the left side of midfield in a 4-4-2 with Francis-Angol behind him.

I dont see how we can look any further than last nights formation with just the inclusion of Feaths and Cullen for Smith and Grey. ZFA needs to start - his decision making is class and looking at last night highlights the interceptions and blocks he makes are better than others in the back line. Hope he stays fit and out of DCs plans also.

Just to add ... Cullen surely isnt being eyed up by another club and isnt playing because he knows hes on the move ?

agree. if angol i dropped for saturday after last night you would not blame him if he wanted away. thought it might be one of his best games he has played for pools.

without him in the side last night we would have lost that game simple - there was 2 shots direct on goal from them in which he stuck a leg out and deflected or blocked. He has to start league games. If anything save him for the league games and maybe put Jones naturally at LWB for the blackpool game (if still here). Much more to loose if Sterry and Ogle are out and ZFA goes missing also.
