He was supposed to be back November, now very little mention of him, can we afford his wages?

I really don’t see why this business should stop him, unless he’s going to give up football altogether. He’ll still be playing football regardless.

i think if the issue was hippy crack use in private ......then assume he might perhaps be given a stern warning, disciplined, fined or whatever by millwall......and then move on with his career like grealish and sterling ....but its using the stuff while driving a car that's the problem....would have thought the police have to be involved....his behaviour suggests potentially he may be an accident waiting to happen.....

Daft lads games, maybe the shock of realising what could happen might make him realise what he has to lose.

Absolutely no mention of Burey on Official Site or in Mail online. Makes you wonder what is going on. Milwall seem to think he is back with Pools but ...... total lack of clarity.

The Pools manager confirmed the 20-year-old winger is back in training with the club having returned on-loan from Championship club Millwall.

Was it three days after Burey was said to be returning to Pools we finally get a mention of it in the Mail

Ok I'm going to have a rant.
Perhaps foolishly I pay a subscription so I can get the latest "sports" news from the Mail website. I do this so I can get the latest news on the goings on at Pools. Now, to be honest I feel the standard of journalism is pish poor at times. For example player ratings that inexplicably stop at number 8, it is not as if they notice the error and correct it either. Numerous articles which basically are about nothing: "Lee has this message to....." the article comprises another summary of the most recent game together with a couple of sentences pulled from an interview on You Tube. There was the famous occasion when the predicted line up was for the fixture played the previous week so they had not noticed or bothered to alter the previous week's heading. Now we have the Burey episode with no mention of him being back at Pools till yesterday even though Millwall had stated he was back with Pools, days earlier. It is not as if Burey is just some youngster of no significance: it was almost entirely down to him that Pools began the season so brightly. I dunno, I may well cancel my payment because I can find out more about Pools on this (excellent) forum than I can from the Mail Sports section.

While we often comment how social media has killed forums, it's pretty much killed sports journalism as well.

If anything big happens, people immediately post it on Twitter or Facebook. Granted while the claims can be often dubious, how often has the Mail got things wrong in the past few years?

I don't think I've ever went onto the Hartlepool Mail website for Pools news, it's also horrific to navigate if you don't remove the adds.

It is a fair point about social media making journalism more difficult but there is absolutely no possible excuse for the slapdash presentation and obvious lack of proof reading. These people are supposedly professionals after all is said and done. As for the adverts, I use an add blocker so I just have big spaces where the adverts would be.

I agree though Oz, the professionalism is non existant. I understand the writers at the Mail probably don't don't support Pools, but nor did Mark Simpson initially qnd he did a brilliant job as the clubs media man.

As we've said before on here though, British journalism is in the gutter, be it the mainstream media, half arsed local journalism, or the Piers Morgan tabloid news of the world types.

You've summed that up rather well Mr Brush.

It appears the MSM have stepped into to appoint themselves the arbiters of the Nation’s morals and standing. They are undermining ALL political Party’s (Labour and Tory) who do not conform to their ‘standards’.
